Parked Cruachan Station. Walked to reservoir, then directly ascended Beinn a' Bhuiridh which was steep up and steep down the other side. Main path to Stob Garbh, Stob Daimh. Out and back to Sron an Isean. Main path to Drochaid Ghlas and then Ben Cruachan, Cloud cleared on arrival, only person all day to see the views! Added on Stob Dearg [Taynuilt Peak] due to the good conditions. Contoured back to the path and summited Meall Cuanail before dropping back to the reservoir. All summits clear, spectacular views throughout. Solo.meltdiceburg18/09/2022
Staying at the OMC Cottage, on Friday a few of us visited the Ben Cruachan Power Station (the hollow mountain). On Saturday we headed up the Ben Cruachan horseshoe for Louise Waters last Munro. 14 folk set off including two who had never done a munro before. We started from Falls of Cruachan station, up to the dam then around the east shore and up to the Saddle north of the Corbett. Ascending Stob Garbh first. Then Stob Daimh, I nipped over to Sron an Isean. Then rejoined the main group on Stob Daimh again. Two folk turned back from here. Then over Drochaid Ghlas and up to Ben Cruachan (Louise's finale), which had been covered in mist most of the day. One guy joined us on the summit. No views on top of Ben Cruachan but plenty of champagne and Cranachan. We descended straight down to the reservoir and rejoined the outward route, 09:50hrs all in.chillyman817/09/2022

A big day doing the most of the Cruachan massif. Roadside parking at Cruachan Falls. Straight up the steep tiny track to the hydro access road, then to the dam and along the track on RHS up to Lairig Toran. Then followed a grassy rake up the steep the Corbett, Beinn a'Bhiridh, back the same way to re-join the main track up to Stob Garb, and (Munro) Stob Daimh. Next branched off east to bag Sron an Isean, and back west along the main ridge to Drochaid Glas, and the main Munro Ben Cruachan. Out and back to Stob Dearg, before a diversion off the principal route down to bag another MT, Meall Cuanail, on the way down. Altogether 21km with over 2000m ascent taking 11 hours.silveracorn_alan27/08/2022
The Dalmally Horseshoe, plus an out-and-back to Drochaid Ghlas. Parked where the B8077 meets the A85, turned R at first track junction then cut across to the concealed bridge at 127297. The ridge to Sron an Isean is steep and pathless at first, but excellent walking from around the 650m. Views at every stage from here until the descent. On to Stob Diamh, with a steep final ascent, along an undulating ridge and rubbly ascent to Drochaid Ghlas, back to Stob Diamh, easily along the ridge to Stob Garbh, then down the SE ridge from the next slight rise. I cut down steep grass slopes to cross the Allt Coire Ghlas on boulders below a small hydro plant at 116293 and follow the track back to the start, but it may be easier to keep to the top of the ridge and cross the bridge onto the track at the ridge's end.Nick Down127/08/2022

With two friends. We left the main road at NN035295 and headed uphill to the right of Allt Cruiniche, then going roughly eastwards to meet the SW ridge of Stob Dearg. Ascended the ridge to reach the summit of Stob Dearg. Followed the main ridge to Ben Cruachan, Drochaid Ghlas, Stob Diamh, continuing to Sron an Isean. We thought of descending the easterly ridge from here, but instead continued to Beinn a’ Chochuill and Beinn Eunaich, taking the opportunity to add scrambling bits. Descended via the south ridge to Castles Farm. The day was very misty initially, but clear conditions on the somewhat lower summits at the end of the day. A little rain and very windy at times.pwbellarby18/09/1993

Walking Leader at HF Loch Awe Guest House. Jointly leading with Mike Scott. Meall Cuanail Ben Cruachan. Mike took a fast party over Drochaid Glas, Stob Diamh (Some doing Sron an Isean), Stob Garbh and down via Allt Coire Ghlais. I took slow party over Drochaid Glas to the col with Stob Diamh and then down to dam and Visitor Centre. It was warm, sunny and clear.pwbellarby29/06/1986

Along entertaining ridge, mostly on path from main Ben Cruachan summit. Solo. Set off in error next in cloud down N ridge from here rather than east. Felt too steep. Mist cleared and saw main ridge to right! Retraced my steps. Apparently I had fallen for an infamous trap, with onward ridge marked by cairn on my initial ascent path which I had half wondered about on the way up.Chris Pearson21/05/1986

Cairngorm Club Bridge of Orchy meet. With Jonathan Bellarby. From the Cruachan Power Station Visitor Centre we walked up the path leading to the dam. We then struck up the hillside to Meall Cuanail and continued to Ben Cruachan. We went out to Stob Dearg and back to the main summit of BenCruachan. We went on to Drochaid Glas and the top col to the east, where we went down to the dam and back to the visitor centre. Misty on the tops, sometimes clearing.pwbellarby07/10/1984
