5/8 Revisit Powter How from car park, then walked along to Ladies Table via woodland, picked route up to Lothwaite, Rivings and Sale Fell (Revisit) then across to Ling Fell (revisit) and dropped onto Burthwaite Heights. Then contoured round hills to regain access to woodland. After cheeky pint at Pheasant a quick nip up Castle How completed a busy day.nickywood131/07/2020

Beautiful walk with L from Embleton through Wythop Mill and up past Kelswick onto the short grass of the fell. Wainwright in his NW fells states in 1963 'nothing pleased me more in this region than the shy Wythop Valley, so easy to walk, so charming and unspoiled, a little tranquil world apart' and so it remains today 53 years later.Chris Pearson23/08/2016

Parking available just before the gate on the Kelswick road, although there is a single place just before the farm alongside the barn. From here a good path leads to the top. Possible to short cut to the summit off this path as the grass is short and it is not over steep.moorsman07/05/2015

Parked outside The Pheasant Inn and then found I could have parked at the beginning of the walk - bah!. The summit was easily reached and for some unknown reason I didn't take the quick and easy way down, instead going along the path to the forest and descending along the forest roads. This added a couple of miles but there's a magnificent view of Bassenthwaite to compensate.David S.12/11/2013

A really nice surprise. The route up from the car park by Wythop Beck is just a grassy stroll but the view is great and the summit rocks have a certain charm in the late eveningMark Jackson12/04/2009
