Via regular footpath from Haweswater and Kidsty Howes. With Dad. Descent by the same. Did attempt a suggested route from a guide book to access the ridge to Lower Raise but it was a nuts, dangerous ascent and we abandoned and slid down on our bottoms. So the footpath is best.M0YDH08/10/2023

Circular hike around the head of Mardale. From the car park at the head of Haweswater, up to Gatesgarth Pass, then past Little Harter Fell to Harter Fell, down to Nan Bield Pass, and up to Mardale Ill Bell. Then across to Thornthwaite Crag, and back along the broad track to the trig on High Street, before dropping down to the Straits of Riggindale. From here visiting The Knott, Rampsgill Head, Kidsty Pike, and High Raise in quick succession.
