Wainwright's route from Askham - a lovely walk, taking in boundary stones, Moor Divock, another stone circle, the Cop Stone and the little limestone crag of Heugh Scar. The summit gives a view along the length of Ullswater which, with swirling cloud over Helvellyn, is worthy of Caspar David Friedrich.Nick Down114/10/2017
circular route from Askham via Yanwath Wood, Whale, Helton and Moor Divock. InterestingNorthender26/09/2017
Lovely small circuit on wide paths through bracken. Parking at road end near Roehead. Followed tracks to cairn at 483230, then good path to summit. Returned via good path to top of Heugh Scar, which then curves round to Roehead.Mark Jackson17/08/2017
WOs 59; Bs 60. A very wet day but managed to do Heughscar Hill from Pooley Bridge using good, quick paths and just back before the rain set in.BURGESS02/08/2017
From end of the road at Roehead. Pleasant walk up, mainly through knee-high fern. Carried out a forensic search of the cairn for the trig surface block - not found. Couple of nearby boundary stones marked on the map were found.jonglew01/08/2017

From road NE of High Winder. Took the line of least resistance on a gorgeous evening and was rewarded with an unexpected picture postcard view as Ullswater appeared. Golden sun setting behind Blencathra and the distant voices of happy campers. All's right with the world.Wycombe Wanderer24/08/2016
Parked at Roehead - 479237. Followed the good path to 483227, then north until directly west of the summit. There is a decent path from there that avoids the bracken. With GB.bolton21/07/2016
Plenty of roadside parking at end of minor road at 478236 - SSE along track for just over 1km & then left along course of Roman Road (High Street) to large cairn - Good path to summit. (PM)gerrybowes21/07/2016
