Having just found the song Bec was going to walk down the aisle too on the journey there we parked up at the parish hall in Seathwaite. This wasn’t the original plan today a much easier walk over to the Knott but I missed the turn so ended up here. Following the obvious path next to the wall before turning sharp left on the old quarry road to the ruins. Bec was really struggling today but the going was fairly easy and straight forward. After a break at the ruins we hit the steep bit following the cairns where the views started opening up. At the summit the views were amazing over to the estuary and behind to Scafell range. I absolutely love this summit and fell, we spent 40 mins on it and one I’ll definitely be wild camping on.Scotty 2 Hotty06/08/2022

Parked at the top of the pass at Kiln Bank Cross (SD 214 932) to do a round of the Dunnerdale Fells and Caw. Walked anticlockwise visiting Stickle Pike, Tarn Hill, Dunnerdale Fells and Great Stickle first before dropping down to Broughton Mills. Then along the delightful ridge of The Knott, Raven's Crag and Fox Haw. Dropping down again before ascending the main objective of Caw using the track to the quarry on the north side and the zig zag track to the trig perched on its grand summit. Continued on to Pikes and down to Green Pikes. Collected Brock Barrow and Park Head Road Top on the way back. 12 summits in all! 17km with 1200m ascent in 6h30m. (S)silveracorn_alan20/06/2020

Walked from Seathwaite using Wainwright's Outlying Fells on my own. Bright spells of sunshine but very windy on the summit. I enjoyed the climb up this fell. Didn't go as far on the quarry path as Wainwright suggests. Got below the summit and found a steep path that brought me out at the trig point. Fantastic views from the summit but had to sit down to take them as the wind was so strong.flockwatcher26/08/2015
