Bus to Hawkshead walk up road and then followed forest road from Moor Top, over Grizedale Moor to top which is well served by paths from N and S. The day after Cyril left us and replaced by Big Mac we headed to Grizedale visitor centre to complete a forest walk. absolutely loved this walk through the woods, lots of different fairy type mushrooms about and well as some wood art. the summit had a mini scramble and phenomenal view especially over to the Coniston Fells. Footpath via Stang Moss and Arnsbarrow Hill, to Top o’Selside. Descent to Grizdale Forest via Heel Toe Hill to Set Level. Through forest to Carron Plantation and Carron Crag. Through Grizdale Forest via Scale Green Intake, Rake Close, Smooth Knott to exit forest near Penny Bank.
