Return by picking up the track to the west of Great Stickle, heading north and passing to the east of Stickle Tarn. Drop back down to the road. Avoiding the bog and making the steep ascent we soon got to the summit. There was a sheep protecting the summit but once on top again another stunning view. We had a rest here knowing this last bit was going to be the hardest up this mini Matterhorn. | Scotty 2 Hotty | 21/06/2022 |
6.9 mile walk from Kiln Bank Cross road. Out and back to Caw via the quarry north of summit, a very nice hill with great views. Then back across pass onto the miniature mountain of Stickle Pike and onwards to Tarn Hill and Great Stickle. Saw only a few people about on a Sunday in the Lakes. Clear and sunny. 714m ascent. Afterwards drove to and bagged Burn Moor, Whitfell, Buck Barrow, Kinmont Buck Barrow and Stoneside Hill. | DanTrig | 27/06/2021 |
