2nd Visit - only 30 years since my 1st visit. Low level hills today as bigger hills clagged in -thick low damp cloud, strong summit winds and rain showers with a cloud base hovering even around these low hills. 3 repeat Tumps and 3 new sub-tumps -all paths waterlogged (boots opted for rather than trail shoes) after 2 non-stop rain days (yellow met office warning), but largely dry today and oddly warm, up to 15C. With L from- Wray Castle NT & lake path - Epley Head (sub T) - Latterbarrow up NE path from Scout Basecamp - Rough Haws (sub T) path to Far Sawry - & return over Scale Ivy Intakes - Claiffe Heights - Three Dubs Crags (Sub T) -Wray Castle.Chris Pearson07/10/2023
Quick ascent with little effort to reach the gorgeous views over Windermere & all the surrounding fells. Children did really well, Anna the whole way & Alma managed most of the descent on her own wee legs! Proud mummies.AmyYoung13/09/2023

From Red Nab car park, Claife Heights and Latterbarrow. Summit of Claife Heights quite hard to locate, especially with high bracken. Trig point deep in the wood, no view now. Very quiet path. Good views of Windermere from Latterbarrow.Lazylizzie03/08/2020

Bec decided on Latterbarrow as the weather was coming in quick. We parked in the 1 car layby at the foot of the fells and headed straight up to the summit. Very easy path a little steep for Myla but shortly after made it to the outstanding cairn at the summit. We could just about see views of Ambleside and the lake in front but the clouds and rain where coming in so we headed back to the car. Just in time it turns out as it started pouring down on the way home. Cracking day and really easy too.Scotty 2 Hotty16/06/2020

From the top end of Loanthwaite Lane, walked up Latterbarrow then via forest paths to Claife Heights. Disappointed by Claife Heights as the surrounding conifers have grown so tall that they obscure any view. Return to start point by different forest paths.Walkingmurphy18/01/2020

Met Jill, Ghillis and Maya in Hawkshead after morning walk in Coniston fells. We took the tourist route in fine weather. Great 360 views of Lakeland, snow line approx. 1800'. Outliers complete and I've loved it - in spite of some of the walking being considerably harder than I'd imagined. Or maybe that's all part of it.Wycombe Wanderer14/01/2017
