Parked near The Height on Height Road and did a night-time clockwise circuit of Whin Brow, Newton Fell North and Saskills, returning by the road past the reservoirs. Reservoir road is now fenced to the S and the gap in the wall on the 1:25k heading up to Newton Fell N is for the blue writing so needed to be carefully crossed (there was a gate to the N of Reservoir House)JK26/11/2023

Parked to east by reservoir, up good paths to summit.cjo03/09/2023
Parked at 39119 84011, through the mobile home park then up the fp steeply before heading up off piste towards the tops. WO is at the foot of the mast.clivevilla15/04/2023
With Sue from Staverley, place to park several cars on triangle junction to make a walk of it 8Km. Followed bridal ways and several vague paths and tracks for Whitestone and enclosure then Saskills and Newton Fell N. Return over better paths over fells.Frank01/04/2023

Parked in the angler's parking area by the reservoir at SD 400 839. Up the road to the gate just before the reservoir house giving entry into the access land. Simple ascent of the field to the rocky crest of Whin Brow. Dropped back down to the road, then across the dam, to pick up FP over access land to the mast at the summit of Wainwright's Newton Fell North Top and the nearby cairn at Saskills. One wall without a stile to climb over both ways - losing its top stones! 2.5km with 120m of ascent to bag all three, taking just 1 hour.silveracorn_alan27/10/2022
Rushed up Sakills at 6pm from the fisherman's car park in the rapidly dying grey half hour at the fag-end of a damp drippy day before proper sudden darkness. Scaled the wall and back to revisit this WO. After day 1 of 1st Aid course at Newton. Tread gently for one of the aerials is the internet connection for Field Broughton & Whiteways caravan park below (Owned by Ian -fellow LOC orienteer and whose grounds we used for first aid scenario's the next day). Ian is proud that Wainwright mentions his caravan site in his Outlying Fells guide and has this fact proudly on the site's web page.Chris Pearson24/10/2022
Good parking at the anglers' car park alongside the reservoir. From here a signposted path makes its way round the side of the water before heading off towards the obvious high point. One not too troublesome wall to cross before reaching the obvious contraption close to the highest pointmoorsman18/05/2022
After a lovely day at Chester xmas markets and Cheshire oaks we had a lie in and made our way to do some outlying. Bec having been ill all week had to take it easy. We parked at Whitestones Caravan site walking through the site and on to the fell. Excellte rake type path across the fell with great views of the snowy Coniston fells. Passing a tarn we made our way too the wainwright summit of Whitestones. Amazing views at the top. as Bec not 100% and with another to do we didn’t go to the true summit but will return soon.Scotty 2 Hotty05/12/2021
Could not detect any discernible difference in the height of the ground on either side of the wall at the comms antenna. Of climbing the wall AW wrote 'here the game is not worth the candle'. AW's BoOF is incorrect - the FP thro the caravan site IS a RoW and AW's gap in the wall on the RoW at the 4-wall junction does not exist - instead there is through-stane stile here and an adjacent low level RoW waymarker is hidden in the deep veg - a section of collapsed wall, a few metres ENE of this stile, enables access to/from the open access area.Isbjorn06/10/2021
Up RoW through Whitestones Caravan Park. Through gap in wall on RoW, then right along wall to junction of 4 walls. Then find way back over wall already crossed to get to open ground. This is access land, so why no stile?!? KeithByTheC08/06/2021
Came up from road by entrance to caravan site. Left path up heathery slopes to ridge and followed wall to small antenna. Climbed over wall and visited cairn on highest point; Saskills. Why is the website using the west side of the wall as the WO? The new edition of the Outlying Fells uses the east side and even Wainwright realised that Saskills was the summit (albeit on private land at the time). With Alfie.Dangerous Dave07/06/2021

We parked just outside the caravan site and walked up the steep path to White Stone summit to grab a geocache. Then followed the footpath south east to the 4 x wall corner junction where there are stones to help you cross the wall. To Saskills and WOL for lunch. Carried on down to the gate by the higher reservoir to get out onto the footpath back to the road. Easy 4km round circuit.RowanP02/04/2021
With Carol. Parked at High Newton Reservoir. Walked to upper reservoir, turned left and followed the wall for a while before veering right and zig-zagging towards the communications dishes (a bit boggy in places). Open access with cattle and sheep. Overcast and breezy with sunny intervals. Good views.DABT05/09/2020

Parked at junction to East of Whin Brow (nr Pt 157). Used a series of gates to gain the upper wall line and follow to summit rocks. Onward then climbing a couple of walls to descend to High Newton reservoir. Good parking here used by fishermen. Over the dam wall and good path (with one wall climb) to summits of Saskills and Newton Fell North. Back same way to reservoir then road walking out to the remaining Newton Fells off south.nordicstar08/12/2016
