4/5 Brocklebank Wood, Midlow Hill, Millom Park, Lowscales Hill and Lowscales Bank. Nice circle of hills in this remote corner. Sunny day and great views of Black Coombe. Probably last walk for a bit if we get lock down but fingers crossed.nickywood122/03/2020
From parking above Po House.Followed track almost all the way to the the top.PeterD28/12/2019
From Minto verge above Po House. Easy track and trails to summit. View across to Black Combe and other local surroundings, and sunset over extensive offshore wind turbines.Topographer5730/11/2019
Parked on verge behind Po House. First southern leaf covered bit was very soft, much firmer after bush, a bit north. Easy walk up and down.Minto22/11/2019
With K easily from just above Po HouseAshley30/06/2019
A return to Lowscales hill (which I look across to from my home ) this time from Kirkstanton with Jules and Jill. unable to cross the wall from the far side to the top (which I had climbed in the past from The Knott road Millom side) A lovely bonus for an early start sighting a Roe deer and Kid...4 brown hares ..2 of which came very close as they approached us coming along the wall as we sat upwind from them having breakfast near the top .Grey Hare18/05/2019
From Po House, with Ellie dog.BLACKHILL27/03/2019
Roadside parking above Po House. Followed track up hillside until left fork took me through an open gate into next field. Another gate higher up gives access to the summit. If you want to bag the old 189m height you'd have to climb the stone wall. I didn't think it necessary. Back the same way. Solo.Dangerous Dave28/01/2019
Just beyond Po House going NE there is a small area of hard standing for a car during wet conditions. Headed south on ROW to a gate at 150819. Short walk to summit. Solo in mist in 40 minutes.bolton28/12/2018
From Po House, as others. Parking ok on NW side of road to NE of Po House entrance (SD 1486 8247). RoW initially then across sheep pastures and a stone wall. Wandered across to the old GR - the 189 spot height (another wall to cross).jonglew16/07/2018
Parked on wide verge just above Po House at 148824 - Up RoW & then farm track to gate at 150819 - Through gate & then a short ascent avoiding horse to summit mound on W. side of wall. (DB)gerrybowes28/12/2017
Got permission to park at Bankside then went via High Lowscales, using ROWs to the final enclosure and HP. Thought about a return via access land but it looked very rough going and we weren't sure if we could cross the estate's incredibly well-maintained walls.Instead, we accessed the paths in Millom Park from the enclosure/ park wall jct just above High Lowscales, where there is an informal(?) wall stile and went over Millom Park HP(qv) instead. I may have visited the new top on my last visit but probably didn't. As I'd come down to make sure of Muncaster, I added a re-ascent of this one. All possible tops visited this timeColin Crawford03/04/2017
Parked nr Po House and w Jenx used the FP to gain higher ground - wandered around on the summit area w old and new top plus another should top get moved in futurenordicstar14/02/2017
From SW, Po Hse, revisit for relocated SubMarilyn summit W side of wall.RHW04/12/2016
Track and then path from Po House, one open gate, no barbed wire and no wall to climb to reach the highest point.alda01/11/2016
Couple of bits of 'Access Land' from track to NE of summit but you still have to trespass. You would think the Millom NEDS would beat a path to their local top. I don't know, you just can't get a quality NED like we used to be back in '42. Put me down for wandering about all the various tops.Eddie19/04/2014
Not a summit to try for when you realise that you have left the map in the car! Had to climb all the visible, mist shrouded hills just to make sure. Plenty of roadside parking just above Po House. Some walls to climb on the way.moorsman22/04/2013
Walked up the public footpath which just stops and then a quick trespass to three tops.Top could be any of these. Watch out for the cows.DARRENG22/09/2012
Parked by Kirksanton Village Hall and used FP to gain access, climbed a few large walls and visited various knolls in the fog on a mild dry afternoon. Local farmer is friendly as I watch him feed his cattle and Blue Faced Leicester tups.Dugswell220/11/2011
From road S of Bankside, by pig farm. Steeply through trees onto upper hill. Some bracken and gorse higher up, but summit area clear. Summit: perm any one from three or four possibles.Aye Jimmy23/08/2011
From road to SE about a kilometer away. Very easy - stroll. Pleasant.destaylor01/06/2011
Very hard work from NE (Bankside). Lots of big walls and barbed wire. Summit location could be any of three or four hillocks.chriswatson22/02/2011
Boring hill, great viewspeebs13/11/2010
This was a visit to the old top. Damn - will have to repeat, following AD's survey!Man of Kernow115/08/2010
up on footpath / trespass from po housegigglejon12/01/2008
Parked on minor road to SE and used track and right of way to get very close. Then a short stroll to top.garyhoney31/12/2006
Slept in car then a groggy splash up sodden Lowscales Fell in grey cloud. Then drove to Wasdale Head to meet Darren for an epic 9 hours bagging over ScafellChris Pearson15/06/2002
fine hill (but in pouring rain). tk from Bankside to N then path by/across pastures RHW21/04/2002
Went up by FP from 165812 to Low Scales Farm. Long chat with farmer's wife seeking permission for access. She was surprised at the RoW going past the farm and then just stopping, and did not think the hill was the highest point in the region. (It was!) Access initially declined, but it was one of those situations where I sensed that I would get it in the end.David Purchase28/04/1999
On access track and sheep paths by wall to several false tops then over 6' wall to top.arranc25/09/1998
