From viewpoint after doing Hell Gill and Great Knoutberry Haw. Carried tent up but warm night so slept outside in sleeping bag. Woken by an owl trying to land on me and the whizzing sound of snipe flying overhead.with Mart.John Eley24/06/2023
Solo from the potholed viewpoint/parking area off the A684 (SD 69418 91236). Knoutberry Haw (aka East Baugh Fell) & Baugh Fell - Tarn Rigg Hill. Tarmac to Garsdale Foot, then ascending with fence/wall to right.ADT23/04/2023
Perfectly frozen, sunny winter walk from the A684 car park, first following a snow trodden wall-side path/ATV track to Knoutberry Haw and Baugh Fell, then back to the camper for tea and toast before tackling the south side of Garsdale: another ATV track and snow trodden wall-side path to Aye Gill Pike. Around 5 hrs total. Will be much boggier in milder conditions.summitter14/12/2022
Solo from the potholed viewpoint/parking off the A684 (SD 69418 91236). Ascending from Garsdale Foot it’s important to have the wall to your right, that way there’s a track to the trig pt.ADT28/08/2022
Nuttall walk 11.2: Wild Boar Fell, Wild Boar Fell East Top, Swarth Fell, Swarth Fell Pike, Baugh Fell (Tarn Rigg Hill) , Knoutberry Haw. Very hard, often pathless walk on a beautiful March day. Parked on the raod, car surrounded by fell ponies.Lazylizzie26/03/2022
we only did these two as they were a right pair of throbbers to ascend with no good paths to be found until you were on the ridge line.Aristotle Chip28/08/2021

From Wild Boar Fell I traversed under Swarth Fell, crossed the horrendously boggy Holmes Moss Hill, up Rawthey Gill until the first stream on the right then up to camp at West Baugh Fell Tarn. Easy early morning walk from the tarn to the top, largely pathless wander and I was grateful the mist had lifted.Jake99401/06/2017
From Uldale road end. Via River Rawthey and Rawthey gill. Returned across open moor from Knoutberry Haw, almost got stuck in bog. Fine day, ground very dry, apart from bog. Did not see another soul apart from H and sheep.johnkaysleftleg07/05/2017

From Uldale via the interesting Rawthey Gill. Nice easy walking on the top and surpringly dry, though worse on the long decent N back to Uldale.milimana09/10/2016
Nuttall walk 11.2 with Frank and Steve from Uldale. Warm but with some rain.Lou31/07/2016
A beautiful walk up from Uldale by the Rawthay waterfalls, up to the ridge and then down to St Mark's B and B on the A683 Sedburgh-Kirkby Stephen road. Use of two cars made for an interesting walk on a glorious day, with views of the Howgills, Yorkshire Dales, Pennines and Lake District.ruthatlast23/07/2016
ANOTHER CLOUDLESS DAY WITH STRONG WIND. FOLLOWED RECOMMENDED NUTTALLS WALK 11.2. LONG DRAG UP TO WILD BOAR FELL, EASY PATH ON TO SWARTH FELL AND DESCENT TO RAWTHEY GILL FOOT. DELIGHTFUL BUT LONG ASCENT OF THE GILL TO BAUGH FELL. EASY STROLL TO KNOUTBERRY HAUGH THEN STRAIGHTFORWARD BUT ENDLESS RETURN TO THE START.BURGESS12/05/2016

Kirkby Stephen to Garsdale via Nateby, Birkett Common, Little Fell, Wild Boar Fell, Swarth Fell, Knoutberry Haw and Baugh Fell. There are probably no easy ways up this one but the ascent up Rawthey Gill was very difficult - steep sides, bogs, thistles and not much room to squeeze through. Eventually struggled out onto moors which gave bogs with a view!Mark Jackson29/07/2015
as Baugh Fellstig_nest25/07/2015
From Rawthay bridge - we ascended via Bluecaster Flank - Raven Thorn - slow grassy - hard going in the warmth. The top saucer like with its tarn disused quarries currocks - its high point (Tarn Rigg Hill) on the far rim (unmarked). We descend via Rawthey Gill the sides of Baugh bulging ever higher above. After some nifty river hopping we follow Uldale back to our start.briandavies06/04/2015
Started at car park at SD694 912, Followed Ringing Keld Gutter up to Knoutberry Haw, across to Tarn Rigg Hill and then across to Gill Head and down Rawthey Gill to SD 745 947 and followed fence which goes up to top of Swarth Fell. Views at Swarth Fell were incredible, Pennines, Howgills, Cumbrian Fells, Morecambe Bay. Then, ridge to Wild Boar Fell. Down to Sand Tarn and then straight line to SD 730 971. Long walk back to car along A683 and some of the parallel tracks. Crossed river at SD 682 917. Easter Saturday and didn't see a single soul.tsharp04/04/2015

Another FOSCLA walk, bus from Dent to the east side of Sedbergh village, walk via river and then on inexorably up the fell. Blowy on top, views extensive all around, underfoot damp. Early start from Edinburgh at 060x and a heavy pack told, as was knackered early on!JOHNS18/10/2014
From Rawthey Bridgerb23/07/2014
Walked on my own from Rawthey Bridge. Very hot and sunny The walk from Rawthey Gill to this summit seemed a lot further than I expected. This was my second attempt at this fell as I started the walk on 12.7.14 but had to give up when I lost my camera and spent too long looking for it to carry on. Imagine my surprise when I stopped for a drink today and looked down to find my camera hanging from a thistle!! Made the return trip worth while.flockwatcher17/07/2014
