Up from Bellbeaver Rigg, not too difficult and the track back to the road was very welcome.simocity24/03/2024
Nuttall 9.6 in reverse: Viewing Hill and Bellbeaver Rigg from track leading from the B6277. Very tough walk- at least two thirds off path and the ground was boggy, riddled with giant peat hags and full of ankle shredding heather. Grey, dull day. All in all, a walk I hope never to repeat.Lazylizzie02/10/2023

From the B6277 where the track running to the W of the hill runs. Ascended by walking along the track for 1.5km then cutting directly up to the summit. The ground was rather poor, and a better return was made by heading SW from the summit and curving back round on much drier ground to meet the track agaimRockdoctor20/08/2023

Four tops in three short walks. Viewing Hill a mixture of the good track and easy if pathless ground. Supposedly on the bridle path from south of Rough Rigg but after the gate this does not seem to exist on the ground so ad libbed across to great Stony Hill and across to Three Pikes which does now have a small neat cairn. Then the short walk to Middlehope along the county boundary, this too now has a nice tall new cairn.dickscroop08/07/2022

I had a long section between hills and I walked over from Meldon Hill via the PW and Cow Green Dam. The summit was soon reached and I followed a grouse shooter track back to the track below. Straightforward.morgs4mountains24/03/2022

From pt.594 beside the high point of the B6277, Good gravel track with nice soft green centre strip of grass. When the track descends at a RH bend, short grass leads off E until a final 400 metres following grass and bare peat ‘corridors’ between hagsIsbjorn28/08/2021
From the parking spot at the end of the track at summit of B6277 783354, down track for about a mile, then took various sheep tracks and ATV tracks towards summit. Lower slopes quite grassy with dry bog(assume it could be quite wet) near summit. Off towards Crookburnfoot to pick up track leading to the Tyne Head track. Along the track past a derelict building to a stile and then followed ATV and sheep tracks directly up Round Hill. From Round Hill summit followed fenceline down (through a gate) to track, then directly up Bellbeaver Rigg, then off Bellbeaver Rigg following various ATV tracks and a line of grouse butts for a bit back to starting track near car. 9miles 1200ft climbing. Largely cross country, not too bad on a boiling hot day when the bog is dry but think this could be quite hard work after a wet spell.JulieB18/07/2021

Quite possibly the easiest Hewitt I've bagged thus far. Set off from Cow Green Reservoir, followed old mine track to the second abandoned mine, then headed up just to the right of it following a stream. Top was bone dry from the drought. 5 mile round trip but only about 1 mile there and back to the summit (if that). Doesn't feel like a Hewitt at all. Great views throughout the walk though.NorthernWayfarer01/06/2020

Kirkland > Greg's Hut > Cross Fell > Little Dun Fell > Great Dun Fell > Knock Old Man > Meldon Hill > Viewing Hill > Round Hill > Greg's Hut > Kirkland. One of the hardest and most ambitious walk I have ever done. Hardest bag was the walk to Meldon Hill from Knock Old Man due the the terrain. Otherwise the hardest parts were the river crossings required for the route I took. Drizzly rain for pretty much all the time and had to walk to Greg's hut and back from/to Kirkland in dark with head torch. Solo. Don't know how far I walked but my watch said 64,000 steps / 6,000 kcsl mostly 'off-piste'.axoree14/08/2019

Nuttalls route. Bit of a slog across the fell but good view of Cow Green from the summitGary Heath21/07/2019
Parked up at Yad Moss and made way down trail before striking for the summit by loosely following one of the fairly dry streams. Low cloud (ever descending) made it quite eerie on the top with visibility down to about 30m. Not good weather for any ‘viewing’!madaddo10/07/2019
