Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis from the Visitor Centre car park. Followed tourist track to the halfway lochan. Then over to the CIC hut, from where an unremittingly steep ascent of 350m took me to Carn Beag Dearg. A fine ridge walk over to Carn Dearg Meadhonach to Carn Mor Dearg, and then the excellent CMD arete to the Ben, affording fine views of the north face. Arrived at the snow covered summit of the Ben at 4.15pm with many visitors and extensive panoramic views in the clear and sunny weather. Followed the zig zags down with a diversion across to bag the two Carn Dearg NW tops. My 15th ascent of the Ben, but first time in 15 years, so great to revisit such a great mountain expedition again. 22km with 1700m ascent taking 10 hours.silveracorn_alan28/05/2022

After ascent of Ben Nevis, more a promontory than a peak, with steep drops east. Swirling cloud. Descended scree NW to rejoin path at 600 m by lake junction. Certainly more interesting than the huge path but possibly not recommended.Denise 15/09/2021
From Ben Nevis around the N rim. High point un-marked rock outcrop on S side of summit promontory. Great views down into Coire na Ciste and of the North face.RichardM15/09/2021

With Harrison and John from North Face Car Park - up Ledge Route (incl NW Top) and down via CMD Arete/CMD. Not much snow left, and the slab at the bottom of the Ledge route was the only slightly troublesome section due to some lingering ice/dampness. An easy and enjoyable route otherwise.mproudfoot02/08/2015

From Carn Dearg South Jamie and I head the further thousand feet up to the main ridge where we can see hundred of people snaking backwards and forwards on the tourist path. It is August bank Holiday Saturday!! We cross the path and head out N to Carn Dearg N, my other target before finally heading to the summit which is thronged with people. There's been a Jane Tomlinson cancer appeal sponsored climb among others clogging the mountain. Seems like a thousand or so may well summit today!! We head off along the CMD arrette to Carn Mor Dearg before heading south in gloom and deteriorating weather the long way back to the glen Nevis valley. my third time up the Ben 2nd on CMDvegibagger23/08/2008
with dad up Surgeons Rib from Glen Nevis, on busy bank holiday Saturday, out to Carn Dearg South with view of hundreds of people snaking along summit ridge above, up to the plateau and over to Carn Dearg North then up to the slightly misted summit with loads of people coming and going including a large group on a sponsored MacMillan nurse walk. On to Carn Mor Dearg via arette and back down to our midgy tent in fading light.trigpillocksson23/08/2008

Solo. From the Visitor Centre in Glen Nevis. Up the Tourist Route to Ben Nevis. Overtook about 60 people. Only one overtook me. Near the top I veered off to continue to the summit of Carn Dearg (NW) Top of Ben Nevis. I continued to a larger cairn on the 1214m top and down NW over steep loose boulders to join the track from the CIC hut and then down the Tourist Route to the starting point.pwbellarby14/06/2007
