Parked on the verge near the gate for a quick dash over the gate and up the side of the field to the trig and hp. Surprisingly good view to the NE. Solo | richard69 | 08/11/2023 |
Solo. From side of road SO 58407 53938. | masmith | 27/10/2023 |
I don't like driving sown narrow lanes, so I parked at Bredenbury Church for free. 6 miles there and back walk with a complete circuit of Grendon Court, where some bad route marking caused delays. Other paths overgrown. Can't get to summit where there is a radio tower. Trig point also inaccessible with wire fence and danger warning. | gbeniston | 02/08/2023 |
1/3 Marilyns . Hegdon Hill, Burton Hill and Shobdon Hill. | Longwojo | 11/06/2023 |
Same as JulieB. Last one of the day. | iangalbraith | 26/11/2022 |

P near field gate. Compound is well protected - several attempts to get in over compound gate, got both feet on top bar but BW prevented me getting over. | ger | 23/12/2019 |
99% as good as a repeat for me this one as I somehow didn't manage to find my way into the trig field last time around. | Alex C | 09/12/2019 |
Solo. Trig hidden in hedge at corner of field surrounded by nettles and brambles. High point in grassy field. | Dangerous Dave | 10/08/2019 |
Over that gate and along the fence through wet grass after overnight rain. The trig is marooned in the crops. Visited high point also. | NormanW | 20/07/2019 |

Parked in Pencombe for 7km loop up via Bridleway and farm and then back on very quiet road . Good views to Titterstone Clee and great views of Malverns with sunrise on route up and down . Journey more interesting than destination. | D SID | 31/01/2019 |
From A44 at Grendon Green. Footpaths hard to follow on ground. | prwild | 05/01/2019 |
1/5 Marilyn Day. Parke close by, over the gate and alongside the hedge to the trig. | silveracorn_alan | 31/10/2018 |
Short but not as easy as it looks. Uncomfortably over a loose roadside metal mesh gate 100 metres NW of the summit. | Topographer57 | 14/08/2018 |
With K early in morning. | Ashley | 10/07/2018 |
7/7 today. Nice quick easy bag. Parked near gate, nipped along to trig and the high point. Got covered in yellow pollen today from the crop when approaching trig from fence area. | assynt_bob | 04/05/2018 |

6/11M easy easy bag through the gate. | robertphillips | 20/10/2017 |
One of the easiest Marilyns around. Hop over the gate and stroll along the field headland to the trig and the summit. Great views. | Gill | 12/10/2017 |
Not the most clear summit, parked in lane beyond plantation wood, over gate to bag trig and hill summit in hedge line. A short and very quick bag. | briandavies | 21/09/2017 |

Date may be wrong but a sunday in early October.
Nothing much to say about this un. Trig in ploughed field. Top nondescript and maybe in heavily overgrown water compound. | stig_nest | 05/10/2015 |
Parked near metal gate leading to field and walked along edge of field to TP.
My satnav showed the summit to be in the hedge on the edge of the field. | mike.hoult | 25/07/2015 |
Bridleway from Pencombe - one v muddy section. Back via lane. Not much of a hill but v good views. | squeegs | 17/02/2015 |

Pleasant stroll from Pencombe on bridleways via Durstone Farm. Lovely sunny day - 18°C in mid March! | milimana | 16/03/2014 |
Ignored road closed sign to park by Lower Hegdon track. Along track to gap in hedge - over fence then along edge of crop to trig and top. | Bramley | 20/07/2013 |
Operated SOTA from here with Geoff Fielding M6PYG. Set the station up down private track just behind gate at SO 5855 5391. | G4OBK (Phil) | 14/07/2013 |
with Alastair and Sarah. 10 paces from the car to do SOTA at the summit! | M0YDH | 06/07/2013 |
Parked at the green triangle near Pencombe as roads were marked as closed (turns out we could have driven to the top after all). Went through the gate at the bridleway and over wooden fence on the left through field to the trig point. Instead of going along the bridleway, if you go 30m further down the road past the compound, there is a metal gate which is closer to the trig. | hmt1000 | 24/05/2013 |
8 mile circular from Grendon Green. Footpaths hard to follow in places, more like open fields with no markings. Great views from parts of hill but summit views blocked by trees. Footpath literally goes through a barn on way back, ended with a serious slog over ploughed fields. | Columba | 07/03/2013 |
On return from Builth, damp day. Parked w Jenx by compound, got out and wandered back around to west of mast to climb gate and find trig. Nice views through mists. Grendon next to complete pair. | nordicstar | 18/11/2012 |
An obvious summit by the fenceline. | JohnStoneham | 18/03/2012 |
Arrived here about 18:40 - getting quite dark. Didn't go into compound but was close enough. Unexciting. | dbb | 15/03/2012 |
. | CreakingHiker | 20/08/2011 |
Really just drove to this one- found the top then wandered a few yards down the lane to admire the clarity of the views, cloud just lifting off the Black Mountains | pwheeler | 08/08/2011 |
Over the gate just past the compound into a field full of crops and thistles. Legs are still itching! Great views all around. | simon and co | 09/07/2011 |
Another almost drive on. Parked by the side of the road and walked into the field to touch the trig point. Did my radio activation from the road side. | G4OOE | 20/05/2011 |
Parked on verge at entrance to track at SO 58534 53895. Walked along track for 150m to gap in hedge. Easy climb over sturdy wooden fence then walked back along edge of crop field to trig and highest point beside fence. | David Gradwell | 24/04/2011 |
To the scent of flowers out of the hedge and the tune of piano music from the house down the lane. Cycled from Leominster. | Eddie | 16/04/2011 |
Nice hill easy climb | G4OWG | 09/03/2011 |
Settled for standing atop the trig rather than breaking into the compound. Rather mundane stuff. | Herbert Anchovy | 14/09/2010 |
Of all places to build a secure compound its on top of a hill. The trig on the other hand is easer to get to. | Father Ted | 09/05/2010 |

Very short walk from parking in lane to trig in field. Ground slopes up to fence behind; highest point presumably just behind this. | Aye Jimmy | 05/05/2009 |
Easy to get to trig - in field. Top behind seriously locked gate and overgrown ground. Top near enough by the fence. | destaylor | 07/10/2008 |
Long and tedious walk from Leominster (& back again!) after doing Burton Hill in the morning. Much stung by nettles near Risbury. Not my fondest marilyn memories... | DanHolme | 23/06/2008 |

Climbed after business meeting near Malvern. | Man of Kernow1 | 10/10/2001 |
Dropped at Lower Hope Farm and ascended via 2 1/2 miles of country lane. Should have been uneventful except that missed rendezvous with wife. Still met fellow baggers looking for trig. Waited 40 mins for lift back but view was good despite the rain. | garyhoney | 19/11/2000 |
Date is first visit. Notes from later...(in water co locked compound) (TP in field not the summit). roadside bank | RHW | 18/12/1998 |
