Parked free outside Buriton church, then followed the path through great scenery over the ridge to the visitor centre, crossed under the A3 and then a steep climb up to the summit. Walked down via Bopeep Copse and crossed the A3 and back to Buriton. Contrary to latest OS maps there is not a crossing point of the A3 to the east of Copyhold Barn and would advise instead heading south and crossing using the road to the east of New Barn cottage.jamiequackers17/10/2020

Why does the pay & display CP gateway need to have cameras secreted within the 'gateway' pillars and monitoring you? No parking is allowed on the approach road from SU 709195 from 8 am to 7pm. I don't like being spied on, so I parked at the junction at SU 705191 where there is off-road space for 2-3 cars. Used RoW then small deviation to top.Isbjorn09/11/2018

Parked in the Butser Hill CP (£3.50 and you can't pass the ticked on!) easy walk up passing the radio mast, summit trig, excellent views.Tony Hartry02/11/2017
Walked cross country through the back lanes and tracks from Stroud which lies a few kilometres north of the hill. Took the track up on the north west side from Twentyways Farm. It's a long slog at a steady gradient, beware in the wet as the ground is clay as you start to go up. Views as you rise are amazing to the north and better at the summit as you can look along the South Downs way and south towards the coast, on a clear day you can see the English channel. The Mountain Raven28/08/2017
A quick blast from the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, sympathetically sited right next to the A3 dual carriageway. Fortunately, you're soon away from it all. A nice grassy path leads easily to the top of the hill, and the open grassland gives fabulous views all round, right out to the coast.Gill08/07/2017
From the Butser car park to the east. Short 5min walk round the communications tower to the summit trig point. 8th of 8 Marilyns today...great dry day.N.Morters13/04/2017

16 miles in greyness and sleet: Petersfield - Butser Hill - Holt Down - War Down - Head Down - Oakham Hill - West Harting Down - Torberry Hill - Petersfield. Looks like there's no way up onto the NE ridge of Butser Hill but actually it is fine if you use the track from the N, and a great way up.Mark Jackson11/02/2017
Gloomsville up here today (4th visit this week with L and Molly the dog from East Meon) . All forms of drizzle encountered- Types 14- 22 gentle mizzle to steady slanting ( an inspirational idea by Douglas Adams used in one of his novels to classify all type of rainfall). Clearing up by the end of walk to intermittent spotting (Type 37). 6th ascentChris Pearson08/01/2017
Reverse of yesterday's 3 hour dog walk and just as good on another crisp sunny morning walk. Today up here on dog walking central we met a retired teacher with 3 'rescue' collie dogs, who runs dog training classes.Chris Pearson06/01/2017
Another gloriously frozen morning with sharp clarity, blue sky, no wind. and sunshine in the cold air for a great circuit over frozen mud and puddles with L and Molly the dog. Up from East Meon then along SDW to Wether Hill and down for a natural 3 hr circuit. 4th ascentChris Pearson05/01/2017
Nice horseshoe walk on access land above the steep bowl on the north side -from East Meon on a bright sunny cold day with sharp views. Dogs galore bounding around, which we added to with Molly. 3rd ascent.Chris Pearson02/01/2017
Parked in Butser Hill car park. Did not have any change to pay parking charge but as it was December and thick fog parked on northern edge and followed one of many paths west to radio tower access road continuing NW along path until the trig appeared out of the gloom. Returned same way. Quick visit and saved £1.80mntainman19/12/2016
2nd visit with L and Betty the dog on 6 hr circular walk from Clanfield. The smooth grassy wide steep slope up from the always popular QE Country Park must be one of the most walked / cycled stretch of the South Downs Way? Such popularity has required (according to a sign) a new bylaw here making it an offence not to have your dog on a lead on this sheep grazed pasture, or risk being fined by East Hampshire county council. Kept Betty on her lead for this bit.Chris Pearson08/10/2016
