After Stob Ban only Gill and I head east Sgor an Iubhair along snowy Devils Ridge still in cloud, Sgurr a'Mhaim. Coming NW off summit it's intention straight down NW ridge to be picked up at bridge over the Nevis. Again having not initially taken a compass bearing and followed it, by the time we do I realise we'd curved round to north and have missed a subtle split in the ridge. I know that we should head back up a little to get on correct direction but Gill firmly suggests we continue on. I fear this is bad decision as its much steeper ground lower on the north side and we’ll also have much further to go along valley floor but am tired and don't argue my case. Lower down we’re descending quite a steep gully and I slip a bit on the scree and dislodge a few big boulders and one of them comes down and whacks me very hard on the back of my right calf. I wince and feel this is karmic retribution from my earlier egotistical pride about being right in the cloud.vegibagger05/05/1998

Date uncertain, Ring of Steall circuit from Steallrjf3519/06/1985
On traverse of Mamores from Stob Ban to An Gearanach, my brother's first Munros. We diverted along the Devil's Ridge to ascend Sgurr a'Mhaim, then returned the same way to double the delight with this exciting ridge. In dry conditions- plenty of snow patches but they were all in corries and hollows. Clear, sunny day after early morning fog. Strong E breeze in valleys, no stronger on topspwheeler22/05/1985
Initially with a friend. From Glen Nevis we walked along forest tracks, then rough path beside Allt a' Choire Riabhaich to reach the summit of Mullach nan Coirean and then the SE top. My friend left me here to ascend other things. I continued alone to Stob Ban, Sgurr an Iubhair, Stob a' Choire Mhail, and Sgurr a' Mhaim. On the descent I found a path going well up Glen Nevis. I descended over steep ground to the bridge over the burn at NN158684. I crossed the bridge and went along the road to the car. Very warm and sunny, clear.pwbellarby12/05/1985
