Parked on A9 at Cuaich. Round of 6 Simms: Bogha-cloiche, Sgor Dearg, Meall Odhar Mor, Creag an Dubh-chadha, Bruthach na Craoibhe, A'Mharconaich. | PGCE | 14/07/2020 |
We cycled from the A9 to Sronphadruig, dumped the bikes and headed up a snow-capped Am Meadar. Pretty steep going, but just a foretaste of the day. Back down to a dam crossing SSW of An Dun. Came across a deer marksman who fired a couple of shots as we headed up the steep south slope - a narrow path helps for most of the way. Over An Dun's two tops then veered west to the Coire na Craoibhe and its spectacular icy waterfall. Tough climb onto Bruthach na Craoibhe as the wind picked up and the snow got deeper so headed down the stalkers path to Sidhean Coire an Dubh-chadha, a nice wee bump. Walked back to the bikes on the track towards Loch an Dun, but rather than get wet feet we opted for the east side, where a small trail gave some help over rough terrain. | summitter | 07/02/2020 |
