Logged Descriptions  (logged by 38 users)ByDate of Ascent
On a recent trip to an dun, i noticed the stalkers path that winds up the south side of am meadar. so i returned today to use it. Cycled to the lodge and picked up path after a bit of heather bashing. Its quite clear higher up, but becoming overgrown. But its better than a full frontal heather bash. Decent day, love the veg carpet flattish tops these hills.hils01/09/2023
3 of 3: From An Dun. There were large banks of snow around the top of the north slopes so we went round to Norman's line of ascent. Very steep. We descended by joining a stalkers path at the west col P737. With Karen.ChrisR27/03/2023
Cycled up from Dalnacardoch to Sronphadruig. Boulder hopped the river and straight up the steep side, avoiding remaining snow patches. Descended NE for An Dun views. Met a couple of SSE employees opening a sluice, so there was much more water in the river after that. There is a bridge at 717787.NormanW23/03/2022
From S, Dalnacardoch, stepping stones opp Sronphadruig Lodge then mostly decent terrain. Back via Meall na SpianaigRHW05/06/2021
Round of 3 Simms from A9 at Dalnacardoch Lodge. Meall na Spianaig, Am Meadar, Glas Mheall Beag.PGCE13/07/2020
meall na spianaig, am meadar, meall odhar mor, from dalnacardoch biked in to sronphadriug lodge.robertphillips11/07/2020
We cycled from the A9 to Sronphadruig, dumped the bikes and headed up a snow-capped Am Meadar. Pretty steep going, but just a foretaste of the day. Back down to a dam crossing SSW of An Dun. Came across a deer marksman who fired a couple of shots as we headed up the steep south slope - a narrow path helps for most of the way. Over An Dun's two tops then veered west to the Coire na Craoibhe and its spectacular icy waterfall. Tough climb onto Bruthach na Craoibhe as the wind picked up and the snow got deeper so headed down the stalkers path to Sidhean Coire an Dubh-chadha, a nice wee bump. Walked back to the bikes on the track towards Loch an Dun, but rather than get wet feet we opted for the east side, where a small trail gave some help over rough terrain.summitter07/02/2020
Glas Mheall Beag, Glas Mheall Mor, Am Meadar & A' Bhuidheanach Bheag from Dalnaspidal.duchally19/01/2020
Leave track next to Sronphadruig Lodge. A bit of a path near a line of grouse butts gets you established.mae22/11/2018

Very flat summit, fine location. Back to track just before dark, ending in a tunnel under the A9 alongside the river, reappearing on the wrong side of the dual carriageway and the wrong side on the Edendon Water.alda26/09/2015
Re-crossed Cama' Choire after Meall Odhar Mor and on to hilltop from W. Tiny cairn in vicinity of summit, larger one further E.Lindsay M09/08/2015
Sunny, windy, good views, intercepted by herd of deer possibly 4-500, can't be good for the environment.iangalbraith26/08/2001
With: solo; After a day with no Munros this would be an improvement. Struck camp by Allt a'Chama Choire and headed up to bealach SW of this. I dropped sack and quickly nipped up this. Then ridge SW to Glas Mheall Mor.Ian Baines28/06/1994
