From parking at Llyn Eigiau Reservoir. Across from Craig Ffynnon and then onto Waen Bryn-gwenith.Alan Caine07/05/2023
A big day from parking West of Moel Eilio at 73166 66302, first a long stretch of Two and half hours to reach Craig Wen via the path beside Llyn Cowlyd reservoir retracing my steps back to the dam, onto Cefn Cyfarwydd and returning to the dam finally up to the 482 point on the Moel Eilio ridge, the ridge at this time of year was deep heather and really awfull so much so after reaching the summit of Moel Eilio I descended by dropping of the west side to avoid it and reach the track around Afon Porth Llwyd back to the car. Just over Seventeen miles in Eight hours twenty.WAYNE ROWLETT21/08/2022
From Waen descended SW to cross river near weir, along track then ascended Eilio from WNW. Tremendous views again. 2/5 - Waen Bryn-gwenith/Moel Eilio/Cefn Cyfarwydd/Creigiau Gleision North top/Creigiau Gleisionrichard6912/07/2022

Parked at 759640, made the easy walk across to Cefn Cyfarwydd then the not so easy descent to the dam and ascent to Craig Ffynnon and across to Moel Eilio and descent to the valley again followed by a walk back up the road to the car. 8 miles exactly but slow going because much of it was pathless. 3 hours 22 mins.clivevilla10/04/2019
Final Dewey in 30B. Climbed from minor road to west. Followed RoW to weir and then direct ascent.chriswatson11/09/2018

from the car park at the end or the road, sat in the catr for four hours listening to radio 4, while looking across the valley at the hill baking in this heatwave and thinking it was too hot to go walking. However the desirew to boost the tick list won out !! Across the valley floor and the hill ridge were hard work terrain. Made a circuit straight off the steep north slopes and across to the lower 414m summit and back along the road.vegibagger18/06/2017

Parked off the track where it divides (SH 75805 66887). RH goes to Llyn Eigiau. LH goes uphill towards Moel Eilio. Followed track uphill until it came to a gate. Through this and TR and follow fence uphill. Eventually it steepens and leads to another fence with a stile. Crossed fence and followed path (Not too obvious in parts) to where it met a ruined wall. Path follows this wall to a fence. Turned left and followed fence to a stile. Crossed stile and then upwards over rough grass to summit. Nice stone to sit on for lunch. From top descended W and then NW to come out on track to Llyn Eigiau at SH 74172 66180. Descent all very easy moorland terrain. Back along track to car.Views really good with quite a lot of snow still on E face of Cefn Tal LLyn Eigiau. Good short walk.MikeM21/01/2017
Lovely day with GwenJimearl629/11/2016
From parking spot at 732663 (last here in April 1987!) SW to broken dam and on track to east of valley. found a buggy track uphill towards ridge of hill, through gate and then merciless heather for almost two miles to find sheep grazing on rough grass at the NE corner of the hill. Easier return (recommended) down on grass slopes to track.arranc27/07/2016

Small parking area 200m beyond bridge at SH75836 66896 (Space for 2-3 cars) – Good track to col – Up ATV track & then path, sheep trods & some heather-bashing to the unmarked summit. (S)gerrybowes30/04/2016
From small car park near water works up the very steep concrete track to the treatment works and on using tracks to the col below Moel Eilio. By taking track south west fo 300m, managed a line (obvious) with no heather whatsoever until fence reached (new stile). Returned same way.SS03/04/2016
Continuation of walk from Waen Bryn-gwenith. Headed south-west down to weir on Afon Porth-llwyd near Pwll-du. Then steeply up SSE to summit. Walk continued to Pt.482m. With AW.Man of Kernow128/02/2016
Parked at GR 759 669,room for several cars just after bridge. Walked along a good track to the col then took a path up through heather to summit. Returned by same route. With SH.wombourne29/09/2015
Start ~ 758670, car park. Followed the old track to near its high point before tracing sketchy paths to the summit. Great views in all directions, celebrated with a glass of Talisker as this was my last Welsh Dewey, as ever with Wombourne.steve hudson29/09/2015
Took the Llyn Cowlyd Reservoir road from Trefriw and parked next to ruins of Brywnog Uchaf 747642, followed track next to pipeline (eastern side). As track started to deviate away from pipeline crawled under part of pipeline and gained the higher footpath on other side of pipeline. Followed this old pathway, then up the eastern grassy slope to a stile over fence just below summit.Returned same route but kept to the higher pathway back to car(quite wet underfoot)comes under pipeline by Siglen buildings.Rob5015/09/2015

Long walk up from Dolgarrog after a visit to the Coedty reservoir.mad max19/09/2013
There is no path to this summit and the ridge is thick heather. Instead, follow the wall just below the ridge to the east. It is broken down and overgrown with grass, creating a green line between the heather. Eventually turn left to follow the fence north west near to the summit, then cross at the fence junction to follow the fence north east. Very soon there is a relatively grassy area leading upwards - take this because shortly after the heather comes down to the fence. Descend to Pwll-du keeping left of the main body of trees. Previous comments about crossing to the car park probably refer to the direct path shown on the OS map. I saw no sign of it and I do not think it is encouraged. The public footpath heading north west by the wall is satisfactory. The path from Pwll-du to the wier is not visible but have confidence to go that way - there are wooden crossing points in the fence where they should be. The path back to the road was a little squelchy in dry weather but easyijpowell08/06/2013
From the car park (SH 73162 66304) at the road-head in Cwm Eigiau, via Craig Ffynnon. Very hard-going with only sheep tracks. Crossing Afon Porth-llwyd was easy, but surrounding bogs and tussock grass very tough-going indeed - route not recommended!Man of Kernow106/06/2013

Parked at end of Llyn Eigiau road. Is possible to cut directly across to hill, but vegetation in bottom of valley is hard work. Once on the hill there is a grassy ascent route possible which avoids heather which covers the SW end.PeteF10/02/2010
Leading 11 clients on a JG pre exp w/e. I planned a linear walk form Dolgarrog up by pipe over this top and along Llyn Cowlyd (where I had camped with Liz M in rain in 1984) -same wet and wind into face today, and down to Capel.Chris Pearson27/11/1999
