Parked at Cwm Bychan for a circuit of 8 Tumps. 15km in 6 hours 30: tough going. 6/8PGCE21/07/2022
Round of Clip, Craig Ddrwg, Craig Wion and the Morwynion trio from Cwm Bychan, all very rough going and utterly delightful.Colin Crawford10/10/2021
Top no. 8...On a hot long day finally Riyadh was my journey all along the rough and exhausting Rhinogs ridge from before the northerly Marilyn all the way down collecting all the tops & culminating in Rhinog Mawrvegibagger16/07/2021
Rhinog route from car park to E (Craigddu-isaf), in outstanding sunny weather. Followed good path E nearly to pass then traversed SW to in Llyn Du and climbed to summit of Craig Llyn Du (climbing the various boulders). Descended to W end of Llynand descended carefully WNW and then walked along W side of Gloyw Lyn before climbing to top of Carreg-y-saeth. Took traversing route E to join Roman Steps route near the pass, then climbed to Moel Morwynion SW Top, Moel Morwynion, Moel Morwynion NE Top, and finally Craig Wion. The section N of Roman steps very rough. Descended by stream running SE of Lyn Pryfed aiming to join footpath running S through forest. The path was barely evident on the ground and there was some rough terrain before reaching clearer paths.RobertP12/06/2021
2 day traverse from Talsarnau to Barmouth from Moel y Gyrafolen on SW using some tracks and no paths to SH65821 32996 stream to LLyn Pryfed up to topunderhill14/05/2021
Parked at Llyn Cwm Bychan for £3 in the honesty box, camping is available to but no facilities, up the Roman steps and then right on a path to Llyn Du and the first top Craig Llyn Ddu. Returned to the top of the Roman steps and headed for Moel Morwynion and Craig Wion. It would take six hours to get back to the car missing out Clip and Craig Ddrwg due to heat and lack of fluids. Six and half miles.WAYNE ROWLETT24/04/2021
Parked at quarry site -683335. Talked to friendly owner of Wern-fach and then followed sometimes indistinct path SW directly to the summit. Good underfoot during the dry spell. Headed to Clip with Degsy.bolton21/04/2021
From Clip. Straightforward ascent a good 30m east of wall. Avoiding any difficulty. Arriving below the summit on the E. Was a bit of a pickle though. Found a direct way up the last 5m or so and sat watching the goats a fellow Walker (from llandegla area) appeared from nowhere it seemed. We chatted a good while. A bloomin grand spot. At this point I'm contemplating getting back to the car at coed y b. But still a long rough way to gi yet.stig_nest17/04/2021
Clip > Craig Ddrwg > Craig Wion from GR: SH 64579 31459. Distance 9.03k and 532m of ascent. Car Parking £3 (Apr 21)ronaldo33316/04/2021
A splendid walk / scramble across the rocky, magical outcrops of the northern Rhinogs. Parked at the car park at Cwm Bychan SH 645 314. Bagged 5 splendid Deweys, including Clip, Craig Ddrwg, Craig Wion, Moel Morwynion & Rhinog Fawr North Top (my 200th Dewey!). Also Moel Morwynion NE & SW Tops en route. Returned via the Roman Steps. Definitely a walk for a fine dry sunny day as this was, could be a navigational nightmare in the mist! 13.1km with 1600m ascent in 6 hours. (S)silveracorn_alan18/09/2020

Followed the wall line from Bwlch Gwylim, 'path' some of the way. Descended to Wern Fach following the NE running fenceline, do able, but awkward.DanMaisieBex13/07/2019
Circular from Cwm Bychan to Clip, Craig Ddrwg, Craig Wyion, Moel Morwynion, Craig Llyn Du. Perfect weather for it and a reasonable 'path' most of the way.Neolith17/06/2017
Parked on large area of quarry waste alongside minor road to E. at 683336 (Space for 3 or 4 cars) - W. & SW along RoW & up path to Bwlch Gwylim - After bagging Clip & Craig Ddrwg, back to bwlch & then followed faint & sometimes indistinct path to 66207 32433 (just above Llyn Twr-glas) - From here, path heads SW up to higher ground & along to small summit cairn. From Moel Morwynion. A bit of scrambling involved before finding the rather faint path to the summit.clivevilla19/05/2016
Parked at Cwm Bychan took the path up to the Bwlch next to Clip then across to Craig Wion then 3 tops of Moel Morwynion descended via Roman Steps back to Cwm Bychan.Rob5016/10/2015
Circuit of 3 Deweys from Cwm Bychan via The Roman Steps. The distance is short but the terrain is tough and navigation is challenging. Real sense of remoteness.wychwood30/11/2014
As MT but weather so bad had to descend fairly quickly - not recommended.destaylor10/10/2014
Parked at the head of Cwm Bychan at SH 64543 31448 - £2 per car and £1 per person - honesty box. Took lane west for 500m, then north-east on RoW to bwlch south of Clip. Followed faint path just east of the wall all the way up to fine summit. Walk continued south on faint path over minor tops to Moel 'Morwinion'. With DM and MP on a survey.Man of Kernow121/09/2014
Parked at Llyn Cwm Bechan. Roman steps up to Craig Llyn Du via fair path along wall skirting round the west of the summit. 20 goats on top. Descended to Roman steps on path to east of summit then navigation nightmare began in thick mist and constant heavy rain. Don't try it without a satnav! Moel Morwynion south west top, Moel Morwynion, Moel Morwynion north east top, Craig Wion. Extremely rough going over pathless mature heather and rock with repeated descents of mini-crags (via safe but scrambly cracks in the crags). When I say pathless, there were plenty of sheep trods with boot prints/'paths' but always going somewhere else and contantly disappearing - follow your bearing and not these 'paths'. Finally descent on public right of way below Clip.ijpowell03/10/2013

Route to this hill from Moel Morwynion looked complex - and it was. Don't try following the walls as they often end on top of a cliff. My only recommendation after nearly 90 minutes of misery would be a helicopter!chriswatson16/08/2012
Northern Rhinogs ridge including all listed tops from from Moel y Gyrafolen to Rhinog Fawr, with Mark, Andrew and Chris. Parked at SH683336.davidpettit8424/03/2012
With MJ, DP & CA. See David's log. Complete traverse of Nuttalls, Deweys and other peaks north from Rhinog Fawr. Is it summer already? Interesting granite terrain!AGWilliamson24/03/2012
Same as AW and DP - on CUHWC Easter trip, in a March heatwave and glorious sunshine. Mostly very rough and slow going, but fascinating terrain and a real sense of exploration.Mark Jackson24/03/2012
Start ~ 687335 grid. Walked up to Bwlch gwylim, then S. along ridge to Craig Wion. Nice, rocky summit.steve hudson01/09/2010

Llyn Cwmbychan- path NE of Bwlch Gwylim- Craig Wion- Moel Morwynion- Llyn Du- Rhinog Fawr- Gloyw Lyn- Llyn Cwmbychan. I discovered I'd left my boots in Llanbedr at the lake but decided I could face the Rhinogydd in shoes with greater equanimity than driving back down that road against the traffic to get my boots. Though rough, the main impression of this section was its complexity, invariably finding the route along the ridge seeming across the grain of the land, crossing little transverse canyons in the blocky grit. This is, of course, a delight, the mystique if the Rhinogydd, nowhere quite like it (some of the mountains above Glen Trool in Galloway have this transverse complexity, try Craignaw). With Pete.
