Foel y Geifr [S8545] > Cefn Coch > Foel Figenau > Moel Cerigduon > Lledwyn Mawr from GR: SH 94613 27319ronaldo33325/02/2024
Relatively easy walking on benign moongrass from Lledwyn Mawr. A great summit and I paused in the strengthening wind and darkening sky to admire the view. Enjoyable walk and glad I didn't tack it on to Cefn Coch & co earlier. 8.4km, 407m, 1:48.Wycombe Wanderer10/10/2023
Followed the GerryBowes routeMoorponder03/07/2023
Parked at the end of the public road at SH 913 303. Followed GB's splendid route up the forest road, then a short ascent by the old fence posts at up ride/stream from SH 908 292 to the open ridge. Then nice walk along the ridge visiting Lledwyn Mawr, Foel Figenau to Cefn Coch; then a tough section through the heather to Foel Tyn-y-fron. Return retraced route, skirting Foel Figenau on south side, and then into the wood at the kink NE of Moel Cerigduon, along a channel between two rows of trees to the forest road. 16km with 660m ascent, taking me 5h 30m.silveracorn_alan08/04/2023
From Llanuwchllyn for a round of Foel Tyn-y-fron, Cefn Coch, Foel Figenau and Lledwyn Mawr.rhalstead08/01/2023
7.5 miles 1901ft walk. Foel Figenau and Lledwyn Mawrstephenbuda02/06/2022
Pre-pub evening ramble with Wedgy from Llanuwchllyn. Taking in Lledwyn Mawr, Foel Figenau and Moel Maes-y-llech. Lots of sheep. ROWs pretty much non-existent.summitter29/05/2022
from 9122 3035 up forest track turn right over bridge tracks to 9084 2915 through plantation mature trees up fence to Lledwyn Mawr fence line and direct to moel Figenau fine hill no views return via 9114 2863 through mature plantation to forest track return same track 8ks 2hrs 30 mins easy navunderhill05/08/2021
From the side of the track (91230 30341) near Fedw and used the tracks to reach the fire break which leads onto open hillside, Lledwyn Mawr, round to foel Figenau and then a rather tedious heather bash to Cefn Coch and Foel Tyn y fron. Had to retrace my steps all the way back as I could not locate a forest track that would have made a loop of the walk. Five and a quarter hours for Nine and three quarter mile.WAYNE ROWLETT19/06/2021
Parked 913304. Forest track to high point then through trees (easy going) to open fell. Foel Figenau and Lledwyn Mawr. (Track immediately above Fedw no longer exists).PGCE19/08/2020
Following fence line initially fromFoel y Geifr. Rough at first. Then easier shortish grass to the top. With Rand B.jenx27/06/2019

From Lledwyn Mawr skirting edge of forest before heading to the summit. Made my way to Cefn Coch. Solo.bolton06/09/2017
Continuation of walk from Lledwyn Mawr. Followed the forest edge round over Moel Cerigduon 515m to the summit. Returned to the car by my outward route. Solo.Man of Kernow131/12/2016

From Cefn Coch. The heathery nightmare is over on the drop down to the bwlch. Figenau looks monstrous on approach. The track marked on map is pretty ancient and under the grass numerous ruts make it unsuitable forwalkung. Compact summit and what a spot. Its a crying shame that more folk dont walk it.stig_nest18/06/2016
Parked at end of minor road at 913303 (Space for 3 or 4 cars) - Forest road to ride/stream bed at 908292 - Followed old fence posts up ride to ridge - Lledwyn Mawr - Foel Figenau - Cefn Coch - On return, skirted to S. of Foel Figenau & crossed the BWF where it kinks NE of Moel Cerigduon - An easy walk through trees to small quarry in clearing at high point of forest road. (S)gerrybowes03/06/2016
Anti-clockwise round of the four Deweys. 8 miles and almost all off path including a lot of heather/bilberry bashing. 3 1/2 hours. Post on Foel Figenau is now fallen but still lying there forlornly.clivevilla12/08/2015
Parking possible by Rhyd-y-bod farm. Lledwyn Mawr, Foel Figenau, Cefn Coch (plenty of rough pathless heather) Foel Tyn-y-fron (relentless pathless heather) Moel Maes-y-llech (right of way through forest is obliterated but was able to detour through new plantation to SW as far as track then over felled section to point where public right of way emerges from the forest).ijpowell16/07/2015
Up from road to north using forest road. Lots of new snow on the open ground - very slippery in descentColin Crawford13/03/2015

Easy parking at end of road at 913304. On broad forest road around curve until it starts to drop at wide quarry turning point at 912287 and 200m due north through mature pines to moor. To left and to top with wooden post at 13.50.arranc10/09/2014
Done in a round of the four Aran Deweys east of the main ridge.chriswatson11/07/2014
After Foel Y Geifr I took a bearing and then headed over the fenceline eventually meeting up with a grassy track that heads for Foel Figenau before veering off and then it was up the steep grassy sides to the obvious summit. Great looking hill from afar. I went down the North side heading towards Lledwn Mawr, but it was getting pretty dark so head torch was used. On this day I started from Llangynog and climbed Moel Dimoel, Cyrnaiu Nod, Cefn Gwyntog, Stac Rhos,Pen Y boncyn Trefeilw, Pen Y cerrig Duon, Foel Goch, Trum Y Gwragedd and Foel Y Geifr.Dazingdale06/05/2014
From Llanuwchllyn over Lledwyn Mawr and Fowl Figenau before hitting the Berwyn heather! Then out to Foel y Geifr before trudging back over Cefn Coch to Foel Tyn-y-fron. The descent was more pleasant!SS08/03/2014
Exquisite view of Aran Fawddwy from here.Alex C06/08/2013
Part of a great circular walk including Foel Goch and is-afon with a start/finish point of 913303.JohnStoneham05/05/2013
Hard through the heather to the summit of Foel Tyn-y-fron from Bwlch y Pawl. Over Cefn Coch, Foel Figenau (steep) and then Lledwyn Mawr. Dropped down to Bryn melyn and back to Coed Tyn-y-fedw to the start point at SH 90249 26527.MikeM04/05/2012
Easy parking at end of road to NNW. Cross the bridge and then gate and turn Right - not left towards the house - follow path until meet the wide forest road. A break in the forest(lost coords but I think 9087 2918)gets you out of the trees into open land.destaylor01/03/2012
came from the forest road from the north.DARRENG22/08/2011
