As others, parked on verge at 657 134, and followed the old road up to the pass. Then branched off to the trig at Pen y Garn, across country with quite a drop and re ascent to Esgair Berfa, then followed sheep trods by fence lines over Trawsfynydd to Braich Ddu with its fantastic view over the Mawddach estuary, before descending to the old road at the pass by an easy track on the north side of the fence. Finished the route with a short excursion off the old road to Craigmerwydd - a charming minor peak. Altogether 16km in distance with 650m ascent, taking 4h 30m.silveracorn_alan08/08/2022

Parked to the north at 64500 13289 in a small cutting in the hillside and used the track south that would be used for Braich Ddu on the way back after an overnighter on Esgair Berfa, fabulous views of Barmouth on the way and Cadair Idris from the summit. Just over Eight miles.WAYNE ROWLETT23/04/2021

Parked on grass verge at start of track at 657134 (Space for 2 cars) – SW along track for 3½km & then up RoW to col NE of summit – Making frequent use of sheep trods, a fairly straightforward ascent to the unmarked summit; 1 BW fence to cross. Continued to Trawsfynydd & Braich Ddu. (S)gerrybowes26/05/2017
From Fairbourne up by quarry and on using forest roads to Braich Ddu then following fence lines (stiles on most) over Trawsfynydd to Esgair Berfa. Back down to land rover track (and inevitable land rovers) then over Pen y Garn and back down to quarry (one awkward wall).SS25/10/2015

Part of a circular walk from Llanfihangel-y-pennant. No navigational or parking difficulties.JohnStoneham17/06/2014
Parked in the small car park by Castell y Bere and took lane SW to crossroads, turning N to Bodilan Fach. Then took bridleway beyond farm that zig-zags up ridge. At fork, took left track up into a field, over fence and up onto summit of hill. It's one of those hills where the summit always looks higher than the point on which you are standing! Continued on to Trawsfynydd.Man of Kernow115/06/2014
