Walk up from the cattle grid. It was very windy due to Storm Kathleen but mild. This was all I could manage on my broken foot. Took me just under 30 minutes for 0.75 miles. The moss in the trees was very cushioned so actually going through the trees to the trig as opposed to the fire break (bog) was far easier. No views from the summit but great views from the cattle grid. Not much wildlife apart from Red Kites.isabelle06/04/2024
Cerrig Gwaun-y-llan > Llechwedd Ddu (Carnbwlchcloddiau) from GR: SN 85497 78351. Cerrig Gwaun-y-llan is a brute and then (Carnbwlchcloddiau) one of the easiest Dewey's.ronaldo33323/09/2023
A circuit of the Deweys and subs from the high level minor road going through the forest to the south west of Llangurig. Did Bryn Du first from the end of the public road at the Afon Diliw (843 773). Used the rally course road west, crossing the river, past the quarry, and just round the bend, where a ride takes one to the end of the summit ride on the left (fallen trees – but easy passage alongside through open wood). After return to the car drove the mile or so to the cattle grid (855 783). The road to mast gives quick and easy access to Llechwedd Ddu and its trig. Then for the man eating grass crossing to Cerrig Gwan y llan! Tough but made easier if the random trods are followed and one keeps to the shorter, drier areas shown by the browner patches. After bagging the Dewey, not much further to Cistfaen (s5) by going to the corner of the fence, up the ride to the crossroads, with the summit a short distance along the ride on the left. A total distance of 14km (excluding the shsilveracorn_alan31/07/2022

As others parked by the cattle grid at 855783 and walked up the track to the compound then turned left up the fire break to trig which I initially walked past mistaking it for a pile of stones, Taking only twenty five minutes for the three quarters of a mile there and back.WAYNE ROWLETT08/09/2019
As others parked at 855783. Very easy for such a remote Dewey.clivevilla03/05/2018

Walked up the track to the mast then across to the cairn and trig point. Shame it's hidden in the trees, this would have been a lovely spot.Neolith10/04/2017
Parked at the beginning of the aerial track at SN 85496 78353. Took track up north to aerial enclosure, then boggy break in the trees to the trig. Returned the same way. Walk continued to Cerrig Gwaun y llan. With AW.Man of Kernow107/08/2016
