First of five Dewey's on a 18 mile walk from parking at Llyn Berwyn taking seven hours. Route forest road to east of Gopa Uchaf then fire break to base of hill dropped down far side to footpath after fording stream followed this to Garn Gron, continued on footpath/bridleway until I reached the road connecting to the cycle way north east, followed forest road past Llyn Du up fire break to Mynydd Tywi down other fire break headed east and then up another fire break to reach the east top, returned to forest road heading south to finally take in Cefn y Cnwc, continued heading south on forest road until phone box then headed west up road to car.WAYNE ROWLETT10/06/2018
From Garn Gron. Retraced route south on bridleway, then diverting west to join another bridleway into the Groes Fawr valley. Crossed the stream and followed the forest edge SSW to its highest point, then up the slope to the summit. Onwards to Esgair Fawr. Solo.marktrengove03/06/2018
As Moorponder. Parked at side of forest track entrance at 741579 Up forest tracks for about 3km to 733591 WSW along tussocky firebreak, over barbed wire fence & then a short climb to the unmarked summit. (S)gerrybowes11/11/2017
Car at 741.579 - walked through wood to 733.591 (inc E Fawr). Westwards to summit via firebreak and easy ascent.Moorponder01/10/2017
From just off mountain road above Diffwys using forestry track to get close to Gopa Uchaf. No tree bashing but rough underfoot for last hundred yards to fence. Dropped to Groes Fawr and followed track to very close to summit of Carn Gron (signposted) with its trig, windshelter and large cairn. Came back by taking obvious (from a distance) firebreak to track - this was pretty rough but better than walking back thev way I'd come.SS08/07/2017
Up from the E via forest tracks.Chris Peart30/11/2016
