Parked on grass verge just past gate on right after Brow Foot. Farmer happy so long as he can access gate. Walked through Bowderdale and up track towards West Fell. Detoured off on a mostly pathless trip to Langdale Knotts. Continued along track to Hazelgill Knott then returned to coll and descended easily down north side of burn to sheepfold. Headed south on row until possible to cross where two streams meet and ascend steep path up Randygill's southwest ridge. Overnight camping route on Northern Howgills from Gaisgill. Took road to Cotegill and then track and open fell to Langdale Knott. Continued to West Fell and Hazelgill Knott with increasing covering of snow. Camped just beyond Hazelgill Knott. Continued to Simon's Seat, Docker Knott (both tops) and Hand Lake.
