A chance to bag another Hump in conjunction with Wandale Hill. It was a bit of an adventure driving along the narrow road from Ravonstonedale, due to an overnight dump of sleet that had frozen solid. in particular the steep, sharp bends at Gd: 716010 where extreme caution was needed to safely get up the hill, (I was worried about the return journey) ! However I arrived at spot height 404 where i was able to park on a reassuring pile of grit. From there It was a short but blustery walk to the top of Harter Fell a, surprisingly nice hill, i arrived at the cairn in the midst of a hailstorm and found myself surrounded by a herd of wild horses who snorted alarmingly at my intrusion. Visibility was exactly...nowt ! i went in a straight line to Adamthwaite farm to start the other hill.thenomad09/12/2014

Small area of hard standing parking at the summit of the Adamthwaite road (at 1374 feet). From here a 25 minute walk along vaguely trackable paths leads to the summit. If taking in Wandale Hill I would suggest parking here and walking up Harter Fell first. Easier ascents and gradients.moorsman08/03/2014
