A bonus Tump for today as we realised what a short drive it would be from Grin Low car pk to The Cat and Fiddle from where we walked. Up the bridleway with its good surface. Then better going than expected to the HP. From here, we could follow the path shown on the Explorer Map and marked by stakes. It was hard to make it out from the bridleway and would have been harder work going up on the spongy ground. Our route made a nice circuit and the birdlife was the best of the week with large flocks of ca. 100 Dunlins and a few pairs of Golden Plovers on the moor. Showers more or less held off; Shining Tor had cloud on and off. With brother, Pete.pwheeler16/03/2023

From Derbyshire Bridge via bridleway from Cat and Fiddle. Ascended to summit from south of summit where very faint path rises over low fence. Looks like £5 parking charge will be introduced soon. KeithByTheC04/11/2022
