From Wards Stone. HP obvious boulder. Also had a look at Avro Anson crash wreckage at ///access.fled.approvals. Thought Id also try to visit the geographical centre of Britain at /// balancing.falters.abacus. Tiny mound marked with a single stone - Im guessing it doesnt get many visitors!Vulcan29/02/2024
Parked on the verge at 580 556. Pretty easy going along the road, track then path along fence line although it is quite a long way. 9 miles round trip but I did it in under three hours.clivevilla16/05/2023
From the parking area near Middle Lee (the road is signed Tarnbrook cul de sac) 56941 55438. A Fifteen mile walk first to see the Goldsworthy artwork then to summit Ward's stone and Wolfhole crag returning in Five and half hours.WAYNE ROWLETT07/04/2023
Out and back from Tower Lodge via Brennand Great Hill. A brilliant hill I'd long wanted to visit and worth it for the views of the Lakes and Dales. Fun rocks to play about on too. Kept loosing the path to and from Miller's House and ended up in some quite tiring terrain.Jake99424/09/2022
Walked up from Tarnbrook. Only parking is 800 m east at 580 556. Done with Ward`s Stone. Can be done in 4.5 hrs took me 6.5 hrs!Deedubr05/09/2022
Observed the no parking beyond this point sign to west of Tarnbrook, but could have parked further along road. Walked through Tarnbrook and then followed good track up to col to west of top and followed PROW by fence. Plenty of gulls about. Good views from topPeterD14/07/2022
Parking at NPBTP sign at SD5692555445, then 2km on (public?) tarmac to Tarnbrook (no parking), Moss End, then permitted FP on good, fast, gravel track to 'ridge' at SD618582 and E along S side of wall on good grass path.Isbjorn20/09/2021
Plan was a circuit from Trough of Bowland road summit to Whins Brow, Wolfhole Crag, White Hill, Middle Knoll, Baxton Fell and back over Whins Brow to start. Followed trod to N of fence from cattle grid, and near kissing gate to S of fence realised I should omit Whins Brow on the way out so cut N to path by border fence to Wolfhole Crag and on to White Hill (regretting short cut from Boston Crag to summit). Crossed to path to Whitendale and uncycleable bridle path towards Brennand Farm. Tired old legs elected to pass Midddle Knoll, and map reading revealed that POI for Baxton Fell SE of Whins Brow (at Clader Moor) was not at a summit, so I went direct to Whins Brow, up from farm but through a gate and following fence to NW of Brennand Stones direct to summit. S of fence down, crossing at aforementioned kissing gate to return to cattle gridhenryfm28/06/2021

Walked from Trough of Bowland up to Whins Brow then up via Miller's House. Returned via the Hanging Stones and post that notes the centre of Great Britain (which was kind of pathetic). Good hike, didn't see a soul.umontu30/04/2021
Tower Lodge, over Top o Blaze Moss, Whins Brow, Brennand Great Hill, Wolfhole and back over Brennand and down intermittent path to southwest.Flatfield02/04/2021
From Tower Lodge. Initially good track, then ATV tracks most of the way. Potentially boggy, but okay today. Nice views from the summit.PGCE24/03/2021

From Jublee Tower, Grit Fell, Wards Stone to Wolfstone Crag. Returned via the Luncheon Huts. With Andy who forgot the salmon sandwiches.Campbell Singer24/07/2020
From small parking area at SD 569 554, walked along the road to Tarnbrook, then up estate road (permissive track) to the ridge at SD 618 582. East along the ridge to trig and rocks at Wolfhole Crag. Retraced route west back across the road and on to both trigs on Ward's Stone and further west to next estate road (SD 564 588), which was followed south back to Lower Lee. 21km with 530m ascent in 5h10m. (S)silveracorn_alan07/06/2020
From Wards Stone. A rough but not particularly difficult path of sorts follows fence then wall to the estate track. From there the going is a little easier to WHC. A fine top complete with unusual syal sculpted finger rock. Its a long downhill walk to Tarnbrook from here but the track is good all the way, was wishing I had my mtb. The track is however a no bicycles zone.. probably because of the high speed crashes that would come with..stig_nest26/05/2020
with Andy from Tarnbrook lovely daycolinfielding25/05/2020
From Tarnbrook, up to Brown Syke via Blackside of Tarnbrook Fell(good path) and then followed the wall upto the summit {decent path). Weather good and the ground dry. Views from the top spoiled by haze.Andrew Pearson25/05/2020
2/3 - lengthy walk from Cross of Greet to take in all three Dewey Summits - fine and dry underfoot. Took a little longer than expected - it's quite a long onewychwood25/05/2020
11.5 mile walk from road west of Tarnbrook, plenty of space to park 0.5 miles before the hamlet, walked into hamlet then took permissive track north up to contouring track followed this then another trail right up to the summit (first time bagged since 2005), afterwards followed surprisingly easy and dry ridge all the way to Wolfhole Crag, turned back then took permissive track back down to Tarnbrook. After this we drove to and bagged Nicky Nook and then Williamson Park. Warm and sunny with clear skies but slightly hazy, had good views of the Dales peaks but not of the Lakes. Saw 5 other people.DanTrig20/05/2020
From layby at top of Trough Road: Middle Knoll, Whitendale, Wolfhole Crag, Brennand Tarn, Whin's Brow. First time out after lockdown and able to do local walk of more than 1 hour. Ground very dry for this area, mixed cold winds and sun.Lazylizzie16/05/2020

Set off from tower lodge, across Brennand hill. Snowy & very very biggy!Katehenry3620/01/2019
Left bike at gate to NE and climbed on foot. Very rough walking. Nice shapely, rocky summit. Q7 Completed! Descended in fading light and dropping temperature. Just about enough light to bike back to Lower Salter. 4 hoursWycombe Wanderer31/08/2018
From Cross of Greet. 30 mins up to White Hill, then long slog to Wolfstone Crag. Returned same route.4hr round trip.Longwojo05/08/2018
Walked on my own from Abbeystead. . Drizzly but warm and humid as I climbed but as I headed back towards Ward's Stone it turned wetter and cooler. A handy fence leads directly to the trig point of this fell which was very useful in the cloud.flockwatcher03/08/2018
With SDT & MY. Parked on grassy area at roadside about 0.5 miles W of Tarnbrook (SD5803855657). Vehicle track to Brown Syke then moorland to summit. Out & back 3h30m.ADT28/07/2018

From Tower Lodge. A blizzard on the top made it more of an adventure.RobertP11/02/2018
HP is a sloping, climbable rock next to trig in a cluster of large, weathered, gritstone outcrops on the S side of the wall. The ground was frozen, heather glowed red in cool sun, which also illuminated silver puddles. We could see across to snow -dusted Inglebrough, Pen Y Ghent and Whernside as well as the Howgills and Lakeland Fells. Ascended on good gravel track from Tarnbrook hamlet to the ridge and then along the ridge on frozen heather moorland following fence line.Continued to Ward's Stone- superb walk.Denise 07/01/2018
From the W along the moorland ridge keeping to the S side of fence / wall. A great little summit with gritstone boulders and trig. Icy, clear views, sunshine cold. No Wolves.RichardM07/01/2018
Extended the Ward's Stone walk to pick this off, turned into a 28k trudge over rough wet ground. Back to Jubilee Tower car park 2hrs after sunset. Sunshine, blizzards, driving rain - had it all today, except wind thankfully.jonglew25/11/2017
From Tarnbrook. Not an easy place to park. Access Land - no dogs permitted. Solo.Dangerous Dave17/03/2017
