Nice scramble to the summit.Adrian25/08/2018
Did this with Adrian. Adrian scrambled, I did it as a lead rock climb.mazz25/08/2018

From Dartmoor Inn in the wet. Trig only.Moorponder01/07/2018
With Minnie from parking E side of A386 near Lydford, easy track then grassy slope to Arms Tor, then up to Great Links Tor Trig & top-difficult. down via Brat Tor & Widgery Cross to River Lyd for a dip, then back to parking, Very warm & dry & Sunny.apricorum21/05/2018
One of the more difficult summits! Meldon Reservoir car park - Yes Tor - High Willhays - Sandy Ford - Great Links Tor and back. Great loop, mostly pathless and sometimes v boggy. Fabulous views. Made it to the top solo without ropes - just possible with a bit of climbing experience.twg2726/04/2018
From car park at Lydford out to Kitty Tor (old causeway is a god send). Returned by Great Links Tor (trig only) - maybe thirty years ago I'd have had a go!SS13/04/2018
With Adam and Bob. Aided by Adrian Rayner's collapsable ladder to bridge the gap between the trig and the summit block. Thanks Adrian!PGCE04/02/2018
From the cp near the Dartmoor Inn. Traipsed up here with Richie whose rucksack was crammed with climbing gear. Got up to the trig and were nearly blown away. All very wet and windy and we were soaked through so will return another day. Therefore not ticked. Came up via Widgery Cross and went on to Kitty Hill, returning via Bleak House. 8.2 miles.Herbert Anchovy11/11/2017
From the cp near the Dartmoor Inn. Traipsed up here with Herbert with climbing gear and a bold heart. Got up to the trig and were nearly blown away. All very wet and windy the rock covered in slime and we were soaked through so will return another day. Therefore not ticked. Came up via Widgery Cross and went on to Kitty Hill, returning via Bleak House. 8.2 miles.Richard Lawrenc11/11/2017
A repeat visit. However, this time we hired the services of 'Vertical Frontiers' (has a U.K. base on Dartmoor) & were guided to the tor summit by Matt Knapp. He provided a top rope for the tricky step across from the trig point & for the climb down. (PM)gerrybowes08/09/2017
From the car park behind the Dartmoor Inn. With GB. Some rain, very windy and mist down but did improve.bolton08/09/2017
Large car park (Space for 40+ cars) at end of track behind the Dartmoor Inn at 525853 - Up good paths to trig point, but didn't get to summit (Unticked). Continued to Amicombe Hill. (PM)gerrybowes21/04/2017
With GB. Could have got up it but unsure if I could have descended in an appropriate way. Unticked.bolton21/04/2017
From Meldon Res, Tes Tor, High Willays, Kitty Tor Great Links back over Corn Ridge to resevoirunderhill03/12/2016
Wet slippy conditions, mae stood on my shoulders, he then gave me a top rope.jimbloomer30/06/2016

Parking @ SX 52565 85369 then over Arms Tor, Little Links Tor, Great Links Tor, back via Brat Tor and Widgery Cross. Pillar good condition small climb involved for the summit. weather great views great.griefmiester13/05/2016
Managed to climb up next to pillar. Jumped back down. Took nice picture of pillar from above.Dusty24/04/2016

A very enjoyable circular route taking in Meldon Reservior, West Oakement River, Steng-a-Tor, Kitty Tor, Higher & Lower Dunna Tor, Great Links Tor and Sourton Tor. A very windy and inevitably misty day on Dartmoor.Ginger Dave28/11/2014
Start ~ 525854, car park near Dartmoor Inn. Followed paths to col near Widgery Cross then climbed NE to summit of Great Links Tor. Continued to pick up track to North and followed it East to Kitty Tor. Hot day with no wind. With Wombourne.steve hudson09/09/2014

Wearing Walshes used the chimney to SE end of the tor after bagging the trig and think I am not tall enough to get up that way. Rock very dry and abrasive. A knackered Ian Brown joined me 20+ minutes later around 17:20. I then headed for Kitty Tor.Dugswell223/08/2014
Large car parking area through the gate at the end of the small lane running north of the Dartmoor Inn. A very easy walk to the summit along good, well defined paths.moorsman20/08/2014
Had some fun on the tor.Alan Moore29/04/2014
Parked at Meldon reservoir CP. Across dam w Jenx. Direct then up Yes Tor avoiding top of the drainage line to NW. Onto High Willays, then to Kitty Tor, Great Links Tor trig and scramble up crack to summit! - trig finish on Sourton Tors. Back down track to West of Meldon to CP.nordicstar15/04/2014
From the Dartmoor Inn. Gale force wind blowing from S. Sheltered from the wind and eased way up to the column for GPS reading. Impossible to attempt the high point today (although LDWA gives a dispensation). Surprised that Widgery Cross was not a tump.arranc24/03/2014
Circular walk from Sourton; Sourton Tors > Corn Ridge > Great Links. Return via Nodden Gate. Wet, windy. Not nice for scrambling up Dartmoor tors, but at least not icy so only a little slippery. ***28 Jun 2018 re-ascent: In passing en-route to Amicombe Hill. Scramble up from the trig rock seemed a lot easier than 4 years ago, but don't remember finding the hand holds then, just had a supporting hand from Mrs G on that occasion IIRC.jonglew12/01/2014
Reached the trig, but given the strength of the wind didn't fancy doing the scramble to the top. Long walk back to Okehampton along the disused railway line.Richard02/11/2013
MMC walk, very windy!bri&dave02/11/2013
Summit reached via chimney at SE end of Tor then squeezed up crack to easy scramble to top , returned same way.chalky195311/10/2013
Managed the true summit with one tricky move, otherwise straight-forward. From the trig-point summit, you can reach good hand holds on the summit tor itself, and the rock isn't slippery - getting back down again was the tricky bitwychwood29/08/2013
Via chimney near SE corner, after my son had soloed up and rigged up a top rope. 4m of not-too-technical wedged-in climbing (no more than Diff) leads to gentle scramble to summit. Down-climbed the same way, though my son happily trotted down the NW side and jumped across to the trig tor, about 5 times in fact, as he coaxed me and my wife up!AndyS25/08/2013
With family. Meldon Reservoir - Yes Tor - High Willhays - Kitty Tor - Great Links Tor - Meldon Reservoir. Only Dad & I did Great Links Tor, via the 'Acrobat' route (apparently HS 4b), which seemed easier than the ascent using the crack. Only one hard move to get off the ground and then very easy. Lots of flying ants around made it harder than it should have been...! Did not like the look of the jump off, so descended using the ascent route. Easier than expected.AGWilliamson23/08/2013
Bagged on a gorgeous sunny day on the North Moors (Great Links > Kitty > Hare) taking in Arms Tor, Chat Tor and Brat Tor (Widgery Cross).Stephenfarmer18/05/2013
Tricky little scramble up the highest tor, via the chimney at its eastern end. Unreassuringly damp and slimy rock!davidpettit8403/11/2012
Up from Lydford - climbed slab opposite trig (Acrobat route?) I used climbing footwear and there was one hard move to get off the ground, thereafter it was easy angled. I didn't fancy the jump off so down climbed the ascent route. It's a terrific viewpoint!Chris Peart21/09/2012
With: hb; Approached from Kitty Tor via ruin then slanting up to Great Links. Spent a while getting to the top. We then headed off E to Bleak Ho where we camped overnight.Ian Baines07/09/2012
Easy parking at beginning of track from Lydford. Used a ladder but think we placed it in the wrong place near the trig which made it harder than others seem to have found it.destaylor01/07/2012
Walked from Chat Tor to Great Links to return to minibusKatieJayne10/03/2012
Nice sunny day, started near Lydford and ended lost in the fog! I'll go back to do the top on a dry day.Nick04/10/2011
Way up the crack almost deserves to be a rock-climb, way down easierJimJames29/04/2011
Via crack up the N face about Diff standard for first 7m. down via the normal route.RichardM05/03/2011
Eventually found the Crack that takes you to the top of the Tor. wedged myself in and Chimneyed up the 10ft which deposits you within easy reach of the top. Getting down was considerably easier than getting up. Gravity is wonderfull thingstevedixon01/03/2011
Dry conditions - friction move from trig tor feasible. Jim's shoulders required for second ascent (30/06/2016) in the wet.mae15/10/2010
Started from Meldon Reservoir to wild camp at Great Links Torescottjon10/10/2010
Ascended from Kitty Tor. Descended to Dartmoor Inn. More horrible terrain, wind and, this time, rain.bescot4224/08/2010
