From car park up the track near Dartmoor Inn to SW. went up via Widgery Cross and back via Arms Tor after also going to Amicombe Hill and Kitty Tor. Getting to trig easy, but to top of Tor much harder.PeterD16/08/2023

From Lydford, parked in the shade in lane 500m W of car park on moor, above gate on lane. We planned to walk on the bw up a shallow valley but found the best track high up took us to Arms Tor where a very good grassy path went stright to Great Links Tor. We managed the trig pt but decided not to risk the scramble to the HP. No-one did while we were there. Fine views S and W on a sunny day. Returned via Kitty Hill and Brat Hill. With brother, Pete.pwheeler14/06/2022
Ascending from the east after visiting Yes Tor and High Willhays was not a wise choice. My legs don't like me very much at the moment...LovableScum28/11/2021

From Kitty Tor via Hunt Tor. Downpour had eased off for a bit on the way over, but then restarted with a vengeance at the exact moment I reached the base of the tor. Crouched behind a boulder for a bit out of the worst of the wind before visiting the trig. Had lunch in the lee of the main tor to see if the weather would ease off, but soon gave up on the idea of even attempting the scramble to the true summit and headed off to Dunna Goat.agentmancuso04/07/2021

Parked at the large car park near the Dartmoor Inn, heading on the path in between Brat Tor and Arms Tor to reach Great links Tor where I scaled the Tor from the opposite side to the trig, continuing over to Kitty Tor, just over Six mile in Three and a half hours returning the same way.WAYNE ROWLETT30/08/2020
Walked up here with Barbs and Colin. Barbs navigated us there with Ian's help. Very low cloud, no views. Then Ian and I wild-camped.DawnY2417/08/2020

Bray Tor and the Widgery Cross first. Used telescopic ladder placed in gap between the two tors. Still a bit hairy! Eire held the ladder but didn't fancy climbing up. Alfie watched! Went on to Hunt Tor (562m), Kitty Tor (584m), Green Tor (546m), High Dunna Goat (560m) and Low Dunna Goat (550m).Dangerous Dave07/08/2019
Run from Sourton Church up over Sourton Tor’s along the old railway to Great Links Tor. I t took me a few minutes to remember the easiest climb to the actual summit which was very easy as the only technical move is low down. I headed on to the remains of Bleak House. I remember camping by it in 1990 and it was a lot more substantial then. I took the path up to Kitty Tor. The cloud broke and it was warm in the sunshine. I headed down to Sandy Ford and then up High Willhays and Yes Tor before running back to Sourton via the top end of Meldon reservoir. For the 11 miles it took 2 hours 30 minutes. I saw Wheatear, Linnets, Skylark, Meadow Pipit, Buzzard, Kestrel and Ravens.isabelle04/08/2019
Climbed with marktrengove. After the initial climb up the ladder, the trickiest part was getting over the large lip. After this it was an easy scramble to the top. The descent was best done on my bottom, before lowering myself down the lip to the ladder. The climb was easier than I expected and the descent just needed a bit of care.Sprog07/04/2019
From Lydford - parking at SX 51764 85260. Hauled a collapsible ladder, with AT, up over the moor, crossing the River Lyd at the bridge. Then NE to the summit. Best ladder placement is at SX 55086 86776. Continued to Amicombe Hill.Man of Kernow107/04/2019

One of the more difficult summits! Meldon Reservoir car park - Yes Tor - High Willhays - Sandy Ford - Great Links Tor and back. Great loop, mostly pathless and sometimes v boggy. Fabulous views. Made it to the top solo without ropes - just possible with a bit of climbing experience.twg2726/04/2018

From the cp near the Dartmoor Inn. Traipsed up here with Richie whose rucksack was crammed with climbing gear. Got up to the trig and were nearly blown away. All very wet and windy and we were soaked through so will return another day. Therefore not ticked. Came up via Widgery Cross and went on to Kitty Hill, returning via Bleak House. 8.2 miles.Herbert Anchovy11/11/2017

A repeat visit. However, this time we hired the services of 'Vertical Frontiers' (has a U.K. base on Dartmoor) & were guided to the tor summit by Matt Knapp. He provided a top rope for the tricky step across from the trig point & for the climb down. (PM)gerrybowes08/09/2017

Wearing Walshes used the chimney to SE end of the tor after bagging the trig and think I am not tall enough to get up that way. Rock very dry and abrasive. A knackered Ian Brown joined me 20+ minutes later around 17:20. I then headed for Kitty Tor.Dugswell223/08/2014

From the Dartmoor Inn. Gale force wind blowing from S. Sheltered from the wind and eased way up to the column for GPS reading. Impossible to attempt the high point today (although LDWA gives a dispensation). Surprised that Widgery Cross was not a tump.arranc24/03/2014

Circular walk from Sourton; Sourton Tors > Corn Ridge > Great Links. Return via Nodden Gate. Wet, windy. Not nice for scrambling up Dartmoor tors, but at least not icy so only a little slippery. ***28 Jun 2018 re-ascent: In passing en-route to Amicombe Hill. Scramble up from the trig rock seemed a lot easier than 4 years ago, but don't remember finding the hand holds then, just had a supporting hand from Mrs G on that occasion IIRC.jonglew12/01/2014
Reached the trig, but given the strength of the wind didn't fancy doing the scramble to the top. Long walk back to Okehampton along the disused railway line.Richard02/11/2013
MMC walk, very windy!bri&dave02/11/2013
Summit reached via chimney at SE end of Tor then squeezed up crack to easy scramble to top , returned same way.chalky195311/10/2013
Managed the true summit with one tricky move, otherwise straight-forward. From the trig-point summit, you can reach good hand holds on the summit tor itself, and the rock isn't slippery - getting back down again was the tricky bitwychwood29/08/2013
Via chimney near SE corner, after my son had soloed up and rigged up a top rope. 4m of not-too-technical wedged-in climbing (no more than Diff) leads to gentle scramble to summit. Down-climbed the same way, though my son happily trotted down the NW side and jumped across to the trig tor, about 5 times in fact, as he coaxed me and my wife up!AndyS25/08/2013
With family. Meldon Reservoir - Yes Tor - High Willhays - Kitty Tor - Great Links Tor - Meldon Reservoir. Only Dad & I did Great Links Tor, via the 'Acrobat' route (apparently HS 4b), which seemed easier than the ascent using the crack. Only one hard move to get off the ground and then very easy. Lots of flying ants around made it harder than it should have been...! Did not like the look of the jump off, so descended using the ascent route. Easier than expected.AGWilliamson23/08/2013

Up from Lydford - climbed slab opposite trig (Acrobat route?) I used climbing footwear and there was one hard move to get off the ground, thereafter it was easy angled. I didn't fancy the jump off so down climbed the ascent route. It's a terrific viewpoint!Chris Peart21/09/2012
