Murton Fell, Kelton Fell, Godworth, Low Pen, High Pen, Gavel Fell, High Nook, Blake Fell, Burnbank Fell, Owsen Fell, High Hows | keithouk | 13/02/2024 |
From the long lay-by in Loweswater up through various paths to join the track towards High Nook and then the path up to Burbank continuing on to Owsen Fell before retuning the same way. Met a local who is a neighbour of the much commented on irascible farmer in Lamplugh, living next door hasn't saved him from a telling off from both the farmer and his wife when using an apparently much used local cut through that includes the farmers field.
 With Boris. | ytfckent | 24/07/2023 |
From the parking area at Lamplugh church a Ten mile route reaching the summits of Owsen fell, Burnbank fell, Carling Knott, Lowswater end, Blake fell, Sharp Knott and High Hows, taking Four and half hours. NOTE there is no access to Owsen fell from Lamplugh and the farmer is not a fan of Birkett, Wainwright or hill walkers on his private land. | WAYNE ROWLETT | 14/10/2022 |
tarting from the car park for Cogra Moss. along the bridlepath passed Dockray Nook to Grid 0913 2076.then take to the farm track up to Grid 1024 2055. as permission at the farm to use this path as there is a no entry sign. From Lamplugh Church with DW. Followed 'Sharkey's Dream' route and got away with it. Burnbank then Owsen Fell, by which time the 'checkpoint' had been set up by the Felldyke path junction. Traversed North to the bottom of the open fell after the trees then onto the road for the return. | nukeboy1 | 01/04/2022 |
From the track south of Fangs Brow Farm to Burnbank Fell then Owsen Fell, doubling back to Burnbank Fell before heading south. Criss-crossed between Sharp Knott, Carling Knott and Loweswater End then up to Blake Fell. Down to High Nook and Gavel Fell then over to the Banna Fells, before finishing on the knobbly Floutern Cop. Headed home along the wet path then lovely track above Whiteoak Beck and Holme Wood. 4.5hrs total. | summitter | 16/01/2022 |

Out and back from Burnbank Fell. With Alfie. Lovely sunny day. | Dangerous Dave | 17/06/2021 |
Cloudy and windy but dry so went to finish Lamplugh Fells. Started from Lamplugh Green with long road diversion to avoid private land onto Owsen Fell (hard work with minimal path). Then good path over Burnbank Fell onto Carling Knott and Loweswater End. Back over Sharp Knott and down through felled forest (Sunday so no-one about). Clambered over felled trunks to reach top of wood and sneaked into field and back to get High Hows. Back via Congra Lake to avoid more private land. | BURGESS | 13/06/2021 |

1/7 Birketts Owsen fell, Burnbank Fell, Loweswater End on Carling Knott, Carling Knott, Blake Fell, Sharp Knott, High Hows Lamplugh. All from Lamplugh Church. Walked up road to North for about a mile to get open access to fell to avoid upsetting the farmers and on way down to High Hows had to tackle the closed forestry section - which was feasible because it was Sunday so no chopping down today. Need to go steady down the track muddy but ok. Then went to Cogra Moss reservoir and used footpaths back to church. Nice round. 4 hours. | nickywood1 | 20/10/2019 |
Several signs (one very large) prohibit access on the route described by Birkett in LOW 2. Instead I went in from the minor road at NY098218 over access land. | Neil Midgley | 25/04/2019 |

Final top of the short round of the Blake Fell hills. Surprisingly dry underfoot here compared to the rest of the hills. Took the steepish descent down to the Forestry as per Andrew Leanys description. The final path around Cogra Moss reservoir was very very wet and a mess, no wonder they wear waders. | Karmakarl | 02/04/2017 |

From Lamplugh. Apparently Mr Richardson, who owns the land, is quite a case. Hence the signs saying no access to open fell. I walked up the lane towards Loweswater about half a mile and the open fell comes down to the road there. Just followed the fence up then slightly right to the summit. | clivevilla | 12/03/2016 |
Up from Lamplugh. Use Aye Jimmy's route, if you don't want to trespass. | ngthack | 07/01/2016 |
From Felldyke a round of Murton Fell, Kelton Fell, Godworth, Low Pen, High Pen, Sharp Knott, Owsen Fell and High Hows. | rhalstead | 28/12/2015 |
Ascent of Burnbank Fell from Maggie's Bridge, then easy track to Owsen Fell and back the same way. Tried the route from Lamplugh church as in Bill Birkett's book the previous day, and was pursued by the landowner on a quad bike. Admittedly, we ignored the signs saying no access to open fell and were told in no uncertain terms by the land owner to get off his land. This nasty man was very insulting to us and to Bill Birkett and Wainwright. For this reason, would not recommend Bill Birkett's route. | PoolieDave | 20/09/2015 |
ignored signs saying no access to open fell solo walk | colinfielding | 23/06/2015 |
Gavel Fell (both tops) Low Pen, High Pen, Blake Fell, Sharp Knott, Owsen Fell, Burnbank Fell, Carling Knott, Loweswater End. There is a narrow but good sheep path that contours towards Owsen Fell from the hawse between Sharp Knott and Blake Fell as far as the east-west fence, after which contouring over easy tussocky grass makes a good route avoiding unnecessary ascent of Burnbank Fell. | ijpowell | 27/03/2015 |

Last one of a circuit which included Knock Murton, Low Penn, High Penn, Gavel Fell (W top), Carling Knott, Blake Fell & Burnbank Fell. Fine day with good views. | signyred | 25/07/2014 |
From Lamplugh Church, first hill on circuit Owsen, Burnbank, Carling Knott & North Top, Sharp Knott and High Hows. About 200m from start is sign on gate 'No access to open fell': turned R, crossed beck and took right bank high up on its side. Further on there is still no access to Owsen (impenetrable gorse!) until it ends at a fence. Directly up hill from here. | Aye Jimmy | 11/07/2014 |

Parked by Lamplugh Church > High Hows (Lamplugh) > Sharp Knott > Blake Fell > Carling Knott > Loweswater End - Carling Knott > Burnbank Fell > OWSEN FELL summit cairn (there seems to be no way off Owsen Fell back to Lamplugh Church dispite a stile at NY 09559 20747 leading down a narrow corridor with a wall to the R and a fence to the L the only outcome at the end of the corridor is to trespass... this is where I felt the wrath of the Local Farmer he left me in no doubt that I was trespassing I think he was having a bad day. I said that I was probably not the first and won't be the last to trespass, it therefore may pay him to get rid of the restricted access and reduce his stress level. I think the best way to tackle this fell is to do it first as I did in 2008, walking away from the farm, it will take more effort for the farmer to catch up to you... not that I'm advocating tresspass) > Lamplugh Church | Tony Hartry II | 24/03/2014 |
