Esk Pike, Bowfell and Crinkle Crags from Cockley Beck Bridge. First ascent of Esk Pike from the upper Duddon Valley for me and the desolate but romantic head of Eskdale - splendid scenery. The route visited many not previously climbed Birketts and Synges. 20 summits topped during the day, order of ascent: Painet Knott, Throstlehow Crag, Scar Lathing, High Gait Crags, Yeatyrigg Crags, Pike de Bield, Esk Pike, Bowfell North Top, Bowfell, Shelter Crags N Top, Shelter Crags, Gunson Knott, 4th Crinkle, 3rd Crinkle, Crinkle Crags, Crinkle Crags South Top, Great Knott, Cold Pike Far West Top, Cold Pike West Top, Cold Pike. 23km with 1400m of ascent, taking 8h 40m.silveracorn_alan20/09/2022

Via Eskdale and Tongue Pot. Solo. No visibility as warm wet and windy. Don't believe the ROW on OS map as had to battle through ferns. May be passable in winter.RoguePulsar11/08/2021

Followed Birkett's route from top of Hard Knott Pass over Border End, Hard Knott and Yew Bank. Crossed Lincove Beck and did Throstlehow Crag and Scar Lathing (hard work). Crossed Esk without difficulty owing to long dry spell and finished with the long, dreary and pathless ascent of High Scarth and shorter ascent of Silverybield. Easy walk down Eskdale path but had to climb Hard Knott Pass via the road to retrieve vehicle - what an end!BURGESS14/06/2021

Walked in on a sunny and busy day. Fortunately most people stopped at the bridge, leaving this hill to myself. Tremendous view from the summit - surely one of the best in the Lake District. Contemplated the many Februaries in the 1980s that I walked past here to the Scafells and down to Wasdale.JohnW24/08/2020

From Pianet Knott in fading light and descended as fast as possible. Just made it to the bridge while I could see and hit the path. Back to car just after 17:00. 7.5 hours. A challenging walk, especially the descent of Cam Spout Crag in mist but one that cements my opinion that the Scafell Massif is not just England's highest but also the finest.Wycombe Wanderer03/12/2019
12.5 mile round of hills parking wide grass verge at NY 2103 0113: Heron Crag -> Silverybield -> High Scarth -> Cam Spout Crag -> Pen -> High Gait Crags -> Scar Lathing -> Pianet Knott -> Throstlehow Crags. High Scarth to Cam Spout Crag and on to Pen a bit tricky in places, otherwise all ok. Section 34B All Hills completion on Throstlehow Crags.jonglew19/11/2019
8/12 From the Roman Fort, Border End, Hard Knott South Top, Hard Knott, Yew Bank, Pianet Knott, High Gait Crags, Scar Lathing, Throstlehow Crag, High Scarth, Silverybeild, Heron Crag and Brock Crag. An interesting round in the bowl below the Eskdale Fells of Scafell Massif and Bowfell/Crinkles. Some great views despite clag on the tops.nickywood112/10/2019
