Walking the whole ridge from the (scant) roadside parking at north end of Thackthwaite with Jim, Jus and Cat. Easy stroll on a rather breezy day; quieter at this end of the ridge than at the (admittedly nicer) southern end.wheresthepath24/09/2017
Bs 52,53,54,55 and 56. Showers early and low cloud stayed over high fells but soon turned into a sunny day on the fells north of Loweswater. Went up excellent track from Thackthwaite to Low Fell (done as a Wainwright in 2008). Good path on to Loweswater Fell and steep down then up to Darling Fell. Not too rough cutting across to Sourfoot Fell then good path over Smithy Fell to Fellbarrow (climbed in 2008) and out to Hathergill Head. Returned to Smithy Fell then followed path down to rejoin outward track. An excellent day with good views.BURGESS31/07/2017

Walked east past Fellside Farm and up to Hattergill Head then south over Fellbarrow, Smithy Fell, Sourfoot Fell, Low Fell, and Low Fell south top (Loweswater Fell). From car park at end of Loweswater up past Askill then took first gate onto fell. Passed under Darling Fell then dropped down to Beckhead Moss before a rather stiff pull by the fence to Low Fell. From there it was an easy enough walk over the high points to Fellbarrow. Dropped west down to old road on path/sheep trod then back to car.SS28/05/2016

A very easy ascent from Thackthwaite village. Parking available just south of the village either on the verge alongside the first gate or further on alongside a large fieldgate. Path west from the village contours the hill as it rises upwards, turning off to the summit after the first climb.moorsman08/05/2015
