Bs 52,53,54,55 and 56. Showers early and low cloud stayed over high fells but soon turned into a sunny day on the fells north of Loweswater. Went up excellent track from Thackthwaite to Low Fell (done as a Wainwright in 2008). Good path on to Loweswater Fell and steep down then up to Darling Fell. Not too rough cutting across to Sourfoot Fell then good path over Smithy Fell to Fellbarrow (climbed in 2008) and out to Hathergill Head. Returned to Smithy Fell then followed path down to rejoin outward track. An excellent day with good views.BURGESS31/07/2017

Top with cairn is clearly the highest, but bagged both tops just to be sure in case official top ever gets moved as a result of re-surveying sometime in the future - we always do this now, so that any revisits to the fell are our choice and not enforced to complete a fell list! Very dry ground at moment so took a direct route to Sourfoot Fell rather than longer walk on paths. Little mud, but a couple of easy fences to climb.Hillsidenick02/11/2016
