Roadside parking, room for 3-4 cars without blocking the gate (NY 1429 2111) - saves paying at the Scalehill Bridge CP. Good track runs S from the Kirkstile Inn (nice pint of stout on the return). Over Mosedale Beck at NY 1372 1999 and followed an unmapped path up through bracken. On to Mellbreak N Top - another hill missed on a previous outing in this part of Lakeland!jonglew07/07/2018
Mellbreak and Hen Comb with Don Munro next door. Up the north face of Mellbreak, what a cracking little ascent that is, over the tops and down the other side to the path that cuts across to the back of Hen Comb, small slog up and over this. Lucky with weather, bit hazy, superb views of Buttermere, Grasmoor, over to the giants at the back and side of Buttermere, couldn’t see out to sea though. Overall a lovely jaunt, 2 more W’s and 5 B’s.Mark T31/05/2018
