A round of Bracken How, Round How, Brown Hills, Swineside Knott, Watermillock Common and Common Fell from the quarry car park south of Dockray. A huge fallen tree had demolished a wall, making the initial ascent tricky. After Round How, I followed the balcony track by a wall with glorious views of Ullswater until it brought me just below Brown Hills.Nick Down126/04/2022

DECAMPED FROM LANGDALE TO ULLSWATER CAMPSITE FOR SECOND HALF OF BIRKETT BAGGING BONANZA. SUCH A BEAUTIFUL EVENING THAT AFTER PITCHING TENT I WAS DROPPED ABOVE AIRA FORCE AND KNOCKED OFF ROUND HOW AND BRACKEN HOW THEN DID THE TRAVERSE OVER GREEN HILL, GOWBARROW (DONE ALREADY), GREAT MELDRUM, LITTLE MELDRUM AND WATERMILLOCK FELL TO CAMPSITE. Had a snooze in the car waiting for the rain to pass and set out up the secret Birkett baggers' path at 16:00, followed the wall, went through the secret Birkett baggers' gate and meandered to the summit.
