FOLLOWED BIRKETT'S ROUTE FROM SANDWICK OVER LOW BIRK FELL, BLEABERRY KNOTT, THE KNIGHT, HIGH DODD AND SLEET FELL. LOST PATH IN HEAD-HIGH BRACKEN ON INITIAL ASCENT AND TOOK 40 MINS. TO COVER 1K UP LOW BIRK FELL. GOOD WALK AFTER THAT WITH VIEWS OVER GLENRIDDING BUT CLOUD COVERING HIGHER FELLS.BURGESS17/07/2019

Agree with iredale, bracken is getting ludicrous in the Lakes, especially if you go off piste. Think it's something to do with the fact that the only herbicide that will clobber bracken, is banned. Bring in some Agent Orange, I say.ngthack01/09/2016
