WOs 26 and 27; Bs 16,17 and 18. Drove from Turner Hall campsite to Hole House and followed easy track up The Pike and on to Hesk. Then down to bag the Birkett Bigert but footbridge and path shown on map no longer exist so very rough and slow progress over pathless bog.BURGESS20/07/2017

There is room for a single car turned at right angles to the road at the very end of the road, 200 metres beyond Hole House. If this is taken it means a reverse to the house entrance in order to turn round. I secured this space at 8am and by the time I had put my boots on and made a coffee 3 other cars had arrived hoping to get it. No other parking is available. If approaching parallel to the fenceline from the east you will quickly realise why the house is called Bigert Mire. Not really a separate hill at all, more just a shoulder of Whitfellmoorsman18/04/2013
