Straight up from road (which is verge less and very dangerous). Lovely toptrimarc222/11/2022
A lovely top.Alan Moore05/10/2022
An ascent of Black Combe from Beckside following AW's route to the summit, returning by the Gray Stones ridge. Bagged the following summits along the way: White Hall Knott, White Combe, Black Combe Trig, Black Combe South Top, Stoupdale Head and Gray Stones. 16km with 770m ascent in 4 hours. A fantastic little summit. Steep on three sides with great views in all directions. Terrible descent through gorse and dense bracken down to Lathery Beck and over Whitecombe Beck - it was worth a try to make a perfect horseshoe route but I’d not recommend it this time of year!Dangerous Dave10/07/2021
White Hall Knott, White Combe, Stoupdale Head, Black Combe and its South Top from Beckside. Sun, swirling cloud and an outstandingly enjoyable route for my Outlying Fells completion.Nick Down105/07/2021
I really enjoyed my walk over the Birketts in this area today. I started from the mountain road near Stoneside Hill and walked over in wonderful conditions. Breezy with white fluffy clouds and far reaching views!!morgs4mountains11/05/2021

Part of a 3 outlier mopping up operation and any other ring contour within reach.. White Combe, Stoupdale Head and after a drive over to Low Newton, Dixon Heights (Newton Fell south) to finish the day. A solo outing in bright blue skies if a tad breezy on the tops in the morningShutterlag09/12/2019
Parked at Whicham Church, Black Coombe, Stoupdale Head, White Coombe, White Hall Knott and down via Whicham Mill and along the road to the church car park.Chipstertrain01/12/2019

From White Combe; then dropped down steeply through gorse and bracken to Whitecombe Beck. Last of a 5-hill round with Steve Lewis.jonglew16/07/2018
Last peak of the day. Decide to drop straight down rather than head East to pick up the main path. An error - descent was very steep. At bottom the path to the road was well overgrown. Nipped into field halfway down.johnjennison30/06/2018
WIth DW DS19 DS5, DD3 Mark and Ymarri from Beckside farm (Got the last two parking places) via Stoupdale Head and White Combe. Nicest day of the year so far. Loads of folk out.nukeboy125/03/2018

From White Coombe. A real tasty looking minor top and a startling view over to Black Coombe. Quite why I decided to descend direct to the track above Ralliss though.. It is doable but very steep oh, & gorsey!stig_nest12/08/2017
WOs 17,18 and 19; Bs 7,8,9,10 and 11. Another cloudless day so drove to Beckfoot and up steep path to White Hall Knott, White Combe, Stoupdale Head, Black Combe and Black Combe S. top, returning to col and descending to Beckfoot via bridleway.BURGESS18/07/2017
I missed this one when doing White Combe and Black Combe. Solo from 157848. A 50 minute climb and walk to 159857 before heading SW to the summit. Weather gradually got better after a rainy start.bolton21/05/2017
Starting at Beckside ascended White Hall Knott then on to White combe. Diverted off to Stoupdale head before visiting Both summits of Black Combe. Descended via Eller Peatpot. Fine Day Snowdonia and Scotland visible. All hills with NY,GY and H apart from Stoupdale Head which was solo.johnkaysleftleg29/04/2017

Nice mini ridge. On to White Combe.Wycombe Wanderer20/11/2016
Small layby by Fox and Goose cottages. Public footpath avoiding the road starts at the gate to the west. Remember to turn left at the final track gate. Head for the col rather than trying to short-cut directly up to the summit ..... far easier.moorsman18/08/2016

From Whicham church: Black Combe, Stoupdale Head, White Combe and White Hall Knott. Good day, fair views to Blackpool Tower and Seascale Power Station. Difficult to navigate paths that don't seem to be walked too often when the bracken is chest high.Lazylizzie15/08/2015
