Parked at NN84674 38979 - verge just before gate. Walked up track which weaves round Creag an Duin and has been extended to NN83199 37680. We headed to Meall nam Fuaran, along the ridge to Meall nam Fuaran north top and then Garrow Hill. A new track near the summit gives an easy descent to the road and back to the car. | BaggerGutt | 30/04/2023 |
Parked near the bridge at NN827400. Crossed right over the road, through the field to pick up a track shown on map. The track has been extended and now goes to within 200m of the summit, how very convenient. Nursing an injury, so just this. Easy to use same track for Meall nam fuaran and top, but double electric to be crossed. It was live. How very inconvenient. | hils | 20/05/2022 |
Meall nan Fuaran & North, Garrow Hill, Meall nan Eanchainn, & Sron a Chaoineidh. Up from Croftmill, down past Garrow. Icy tracks and soft snow. | daviemore | 11/01/2022 |
LizH's route. The track down is not yet shown on maps, but is just visible on Google satellite. | Pete R | 11/09/2021 |

Continued over from Meall nam Fuaran N top, and dropped down to a stile over the double electric fence at NN81468 37282. Crossed a track on the col, then up to the summit. Descended to the NE, then dropped down to meet the track down the west side of the Allt Salach, to the road near Garrow. A pleasant walk back down the road to the car, just S of Croftmill at a layby. | LizH | 02/06/2021 |
Parked near Croftmill (space for one car on verge at end of passing place). Round of 7 Simms: Meall nam Fuaran and north top, Harrow Hill, Meall nan Eannchain, Sron a' Chairidh, Creag Grianain, Meall Mor. | PGCE | 06/07/2020 |
We followed the grouse fanciers track up the east flank of Meall nam Fuaran from Croftmill. It peters-out a few hundred metres from the top but a mix of sheep, hare and deer routes help map a way through the heather and sphagnum. Then to the North Top across (thankfully dry) peat hags and on to Garrow Hill, where a new lazy-shooters track is joined. The same track provides a good return route to SE of Garrow farmhouse in Glen Quaich, meaning a trek back along the road - quiet and with plenty of bird distraction to pass the time - curlew, lapwing, dipper, swallow, swift, greylag, oystercatcher etc. Around 3.5 hrs in total. | summitter | 25/05/2020 |
A 7.45 start to give me time to take tent down and drive over 400 miles home after I finished - and to beat the rain. A good track up from Garrow all the way to first summit bar a short section of less than 1km on good grass: Sron a Chaoineidh: back to on track to Meall nan Eanchain then easy going NE to Garrow Hill; then, as I had time, east to Meall nam Fuaran N top; Meall nam Fuaran; NW stright down to road near start point without problems. | dickscroop | 04/06/2019 |
After Meall nam Fuaran North Top. At col, low double electric fence stretches for miles. Returned to Croftmill bypassing both MnF summits. | NormanW | 04/12/2017 |
C/W round of meall nam fuaran, meall nam fuaran north top, garrow hill, meall nan eanchainn, sron a chaoineidh, creag an sqliata, from parking on verge east of croftmill, biked from hp of road to the west back to car, a mixture of tracks and good ground and a few peat hags. | robertphillips | 30/09/2017 |
Sun and high cloud, cool breeze, warm, good views. | iangalbraith | 13/07/2011 |
Route from Loch Freuchie via Meall nam Fuaran and its North Top. A new double line of fencing (not electrified (yet)) not shown on OS Explorer map must be crossed to reach the summit. | Phaedra | 30/05/2010 |
