Up steeply from the Sma’ Glen. Clear summits, huge cairn ancient to the south end then the smaller cairned summit.N.Morters30/09/2023
Short steep circuit from Newton Bridge, Meall Dubh, Meall Tarsuinn, The Scurran. Clouds above the tops.RobertP16/08/2023
Good parking at Newton Bridge. Over fallen gate and along track on S side of River Almond to fence gate. Follow fence up hill to it's high point, then SW on least steep ground, where a path is forming in places. Onwards to Meall Tarsuinn.Minto20/12/2022
200 metres up the river from Newton Br then ascended west side over moderate ground.Eddie29/08/2022
Delightful walk along wade's military road and then a fine track up to the top of the map named Scurran. The actual summit is 1500m away across enemy territory, expect lots of flak including hidden swamps that suck you in, lots of interest though, the summit marked cairn has a cracking view down into the sma glen and road, and the cairns are substantial. decent day out after the swamps let me outhils04/06/2021
The Scurran, Meall Tarsuinn and Meall Dubh. As Summitter.PGCE04/07/2020
From Newton Bridge, up the north flank of The Scurran, then over to Meall Tarsuinn and Meall Dubh before a descent to the river near Craignavar, where to avoid a wade a pleasant sheep track leads back to the bridge. Straightforward in dry extended conditions and benign weather.summitter02/06/2020
From a layby on the A822 just south of Newton Bridge. Through a gate and along a vehicle track to the little deciduous wood, then up over grass, died back bracken and heather to the summit. Nice to see hares in their white coats, though little snow. Went on SE to the large cairn, then continued on to Meall Tarsuinn and Meall Dubh.LizH22/03/2020

From lay-by at B8063 road-end up ridge overlooking the Sma' Glen. Descent by track to the SW which has been extended pretty much all the way to the col between the hill and Meall Tarsuinn. Stunning close quarters ariel display by two Red Kites a highlight on the way back.benalder28405/05/2019
Solo trip from Foulford to the south. Ask nicely and you can park for free. A hill of more character than the HuMPs farther east; visited all 3 tops, the middle one looked highest to me. Mountain hares still wearing white, peacock butterflies on the wing already.Invicta1411/04/2019
From Newton Bridge a nice morning round of The Scurran, Meall Tarsuinn and Meall Dubh. Only complication was picking a route through the rough ground above and slightly to the west of the bridge.dickscroop04/01/2019
