After doing Creag a Chalamain, headed over Castle Hill to this fine summit. The deer fence below the summit is punctuated by the the odd gate, thus allowing access without resorting to climbing. Good views for a such a lowly Cairngorm top. With Nozzer.BigJ16/11/2023

First of 4 Simms from the Sugarbowl. Then on to Creag a' Chalamain etc.NormanW09/06/2023
Circular overnight route from Coire na Ciste car park. Sunny and warm conditions with excellent visibility. Followed path heading NE contouring round hillside, eventually climbing to join ridge leaving a short distance to climb and reach Creag nan Gall. Continued to Stac na h-Iolaire and camp near pt737. Inversion in the morning, and continued (missing Sron a' Cha-no) to Cnap Coire na Spreidhe and summit of Cairn Gorm. Along northern corries to Fiacaill a' Choire Chais, Stob Coire an t-Sneachda, Cairn Lochan. Descended to Fiacaill na Leth-choin (barely a top) and the impressively located Creag an Leth-choin [Lurcher's Crag]. Over Creag an Leth-choin North Top and descended to SW end of Chalamain Gap, taking a good path to Creag a' Chalamain. Descended via Airgiod-meall to return to start.RobertP31/05/2023

We parked by the Hayfield CP. Busy as runners were arriving for a 10K race. Then as DanTrig. The FB is no longer there but no problem. VERY windy on top, hard to stand upright. 90 mph gusts on Cairngorm summit. With Karen.ChrisR02/01/2022

5 mile walk from near visitors centre, followed forest trails up to where it says FB on map, this is where we entered the reindeer enclosure (with signs saying keep to the path and beware of the bulls) we followed muddy little path up (marked on map) to the loch then left the path to ascended to the nice cairned summit, returned the same way, the whole hill is in the reindeer enclosure, none around today though! The bigger Cairngorms in cloud but good views in other directions. Got back to the café at the beach before the rain came.DanTrig21/06/2019

Ascended from the path to the east, going past the reindeer farm. Good views of the northern side of the Cairngorms. Reindeer were being herded on the summit, but it did not prove a problem.JohnW24/08/2015
Solo. From Sugarbowl car park. Used path that heads towards Chalamain gap. Path very icy with fresh snow on top of ice. Left path to ascend Airgiod-meall. There's a fence to cross but there is a high stile. Continued to Creag a' Chalamain. Passed herd of free roaming reindeer who were quite unconcerned at my presence. Temperature of -9°C recorded at Cromdale this day, lowest recorded in Scotland so far this winter.pwbellarby27/12/2014
