Parked near Wester Aberchalder for a 38km circuit of 12 summits, including 8 Simms. 12/12 | PGCE | 05/04/2023 |
Hotter! | BaggerGutt | 19/07/2022 |
Turbine-tasctic monotonous walk from Garthbeg. Started with a long, dusty road to Carn na Saobhaidhe (604m) then Carn na Saobhaidhe (811m). So dull they named it twice. There-and-back to Carn Mhic lamhair, NW to Beinn Bhuraich, down to Meall a' Bhuailt, and homeward bound via Beinn Mheadhoin and Carn Choire Riabhaich. Okay in sunny, dry conditions. Would be horrible if wet and overcast as minimal visual and topographical interest. 7 hrs. | summitter | 05/06/2021 |
2 of 3: From Beinn Bhuraich. Rough ground; slow going. With Karen. | ChrisR | 27/09/2020 |
A nice round from Dalbeg bothy though weather was miserable. Two sections of track and following streams as much as possible meant ground not too bad except for section after main summit. Carn Mhic Lamhair(Ct), Carn na Saobhaide(C), Beinn Bhuraich(Ct), Meall a Bhuailt(Gt) and a diversionon the way back to Carn na Saobraidhe E top. | dickscroop | 30/06/2017 |
Parked by telephone box taking tracks almost all the way to Carn Mhic Iamhair, then Carn na Saobhaidhe. Summit of Saobhaidhe very flat with cairn plus the high point and other near-candidates. Continued to Beinn Bhuraich, Meall a'Bhuailt and Beinn Dubhcharaidh, descending N a short way to pitch tent. Fine sunny day made this a surprisingly pleasant route. Easy descent down to the Glen and starting point. | RobertP | 08/04/2017 |
From Dunmaglass, big wide track in prep for 35 turbine wind farm, then older track. Over Saobhaidhe and 3 Sims, back via Dubhcharaidh. | RHW | 05/05/2014 |
