Rum Cuillin Traverse with Wooly. 12 hour trip starting and finishing in the dark. From Kinloch via Coire Dubh to Hallival then onto Askival. Descent into Bealach an Oir then steeply up Trollabhal. Scrambling near top then out and and back to summit. Fantastic! Cross the Bealach an Fhuarain then ascended the steep shoulder low on Akival on the W side crossing to the E side in strong wind to gain the top via good but very steep path. Easier terrain now over Nameless Top (Leac a'Chaisteil)and onto Sgurr nan Gillean. Descent to Dibidil down S shoulder and curving east lower down. Visit to excellent bothy at Dibidil and then along reasonable path back to Kinloch. Glorious sunshine and clear skies all day, cold and sometimes windy but he views to Skye, Eigg and the other Small Isle was wonderful. A great day.John Lee30/10/2023
2 of 6: From Sgurr nan Gillean. Met 4 guys from the campsite who had started at 6.00am. Now 12.40. With Tim.ChrisR06/05/2023
Walked to Dibidil, then up to NM 38138 92568: this is the bottom of a gully. Went up a short way, then up the right-hand side (to avoid an awkward step higher up the gully). Above the gully, steep grassy slopes to the summit and cairn. Went on to Leac a' Chaistei before returning the same way. (Cloud down to 450m, so couldn't be certain of other descent options).PGCE29/03/2023

MMC trip to Rum. Day 3. Perfect day for traverse as overcast, light wind, high cloud. Technically easy but long ascent from final top Sgurr na Gillean and a dreadfully boggy walk out the Papadil/ Dibidil track. 13 hours alexmaclennan 18/05/2015alexmaclennan18/05/2015
Mad one day dash w Jenx due to weather forecast, dire Sun-Tues so early boat Sat and scamper round Rum Cuillin tops and back for last boat home. Great hills, all Corbetts, Graham and odd other top for good measure. Ok traversing lines between cola made for quicker return to start.nordicstar14/09/2013
