With Stephen and Robert from Craignure out through Torosay Woods then up to masts on decent tracks. Path pretty much all the way thereafter with a strange desire to go left before the trig (easy going from trig to top). On return took grass descant rather then the corner. | SS | 04/06/2023 |

It seemed to take forever to reach the first set of radio masts at Maol nan Uan. According to the route description the next section was a series of steep zig-zags before an easier ascent to the next set of masts. However, we (Frances and I) both thought that the gradient was markedly less steep than the section we had already completed. We paused for something to eat in the shelter of the next set of radio masts - although there were warning not to interfere with the equipment the gates to the compound were fully open and unlocked. We saw our first large bird of prey of the day at this point - it appeared to be a somewhat scruffy golden eagle which sat on a rock a few hundred yards away. The 4x4 track ended at the mast and the continuation up the ridge was on a sketchy trodden path - the going however was easy. We climbed on over a series of humps in the ridge to reach the cylinderical trig point at 754 metres. | langskill | 25/03/2019 |
