From Alyth via Cateran Trail. First to Hill of Alyth trig pillar, then across to Hill of Alyth summit and back on to Cateran trail for walk over to Bamff. Then Balduff Hill via Ardmorie (gate in deer fence at NO 22901 53500). Balduff Hill covered in heather and new tree plantings. Returned back to Ardmorie and back to Alyth using the other bit of the Cateran Trail. Very hot day. Poppy (the dog) decided to roll in poo and was very smelly for most of the day.Fife Walking10/09/2023
From NW, along Cateran Trail, then one of several tracks forking left to the summit; another of these gave a pleasant loop back. May is the time to walk here: the gorse in flower turns the hill into a scented blaze of cadmium yellow.Nick Down116/05/2023

Pleasant stroll from campsite in Alyth , breaking the journey north. Lots of Autmnal signs including ripe blackberries, bilberries, beech nuts and acorns on a clear, sunny but cool evening. Managed to find good path through defensive gorse to reach trig, topograph and bench with superb all round views.Denise 16/09/2022

Parked in Alyth and went up the Cateran trail to the Hill of Loyal first, then down to the col and a bit of time to find the best way through the gorse as we missed the obvious way up we'd seen during the walk down to the col. Finally on good paths to the trig point, and on past the little lochan to the summit. Descended on another part of the Cateran Trail. Pleasant walk.LizH30/11/2019
parked near CG at balwhyme entrance, along track to near houses, through gate to the top.robertphillips07/09/2019
From end of track to Balwyme, via Cateran way and then tracks to summit. Nice, open area, good view with brother Pete. We took a wrong turning on the return but followed tracks to a gate a few yards before Balwyme and walked down the track back to the road. Pleasant finish to a holiday, then drove back to Warwick in the Midlands.pwheeler28/03/2019
