An easy short walk up, and the actual site was much bigger than I expected. There is an interesting video online depicting what it is presumed to have looked like | Hirta | 28/05/2022 |
Very easy ascent from road between the Caterthuns. First bagging the higher and more interesting White Caterthun and then ascending Brown Caterthun. A few people about. A massive 110m ascent for both. All the high hills nearby were in cloud. Afterwards drove to and bagged Hill of Garvock. | DanTrig | 17/09/2021 |
5th hill of the day and very much the most interesting, look for the large cup marked rock west of the entrance. | hils | 07/08/2021 |

With Evan and Heather. From Caterthuns car park up well-worn footpath to top, round perimeter wall and across enclosed circle, and back down to car park, then on to Brown Caterthun. Warm and sunny, but hazy. | mainnirnamfiadh | 26/06/2018 |
From the car park on the road that passes over the pass between White Caterthun and Brown Caterthun. First on easy path to White Caterthun where I walked round the inner ring over the highest point. Then to Brown Caterthun – rather a muddy path on the lower part. A pleasant Winter afternoon. Been up White Caterthun twice before – dates not recorded. | pwbellarby | 25/01/2018 |
