Second visit in two days, with nice, easy, scrambly outcrops. This time with a view and I met Richard there. I had just done the east top of Carn an T- Sagairt Mor and we went south to do Cairn of Gowal together. Lovely, clear sunny day, some snow patches. easy terrain and path after descent from east top.Denise 18/04/2023
Parked at the Spittal of Glenmuick (£5 cash/card in machine). Took the track on the N side of loch and up to above the Falls of the Glasallt from where a stalkers path goes up the SE ridge to Creag a Ghlas-uillt. From there the walk around the top of Allt an Dubh-loch valley opens up - Eagles Rock, Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach, Carn an t-Sagairt Beag, Carn an t-Sagairt Mor, Fafernie, Cairn Bannoch, Cairn of Gowal, Creag an Dubh-loch, Broad Cairn - and follows the track back down on the S side of Loch Muick. Long day with a cold wind but wonderful views. With Gillian, Tony, Richard and Denise, although R&D split off at times with different peak objectives, meeting up again finally below Broad Cairn.richard6918/04/2023

With Tom. From (very crowded) car park at Spittal of Glenmuick (8:05) walked along the SE shore of the loch and up the slanting path to the plateau and thence to Broad Cairn (10:50). Cloudy but dry with increasing sunshine through the day; cold wind. Continued over Cairn of Gowal (~11:20), Cairn Bannoch (11:35), Carn an t'Saigart Mor (12:25), Carn an t'Saigart Beag (12:50), Carn a'Choire Bhoidheach (13:25) and Lochnagar (14:15) and finally back to car (16:55). 29 km. Great day in fine granite scenery, met 50+ people, saw ptarmigan with a chick and a tiny shrew on the summit pyramid of Lochnagar.dbb18/07/2020

From Downie up River Esk South valley via Moulzie. Ascend out of valley at Bachnagairn to mountain track at Corrie Chash. Follow track to Broad Cairn and on to Cairn Bannoch. Round head of valley to Fafernie and Shank of Fafernie. Ascent of Tolmount and then contour round via Ca Whims to Tom Buidhe. Descet to Little Kilrannoch, round to Dun Hillocks and round to Mayar. From Glas-allt-Shiel. Did White Mounth circuit anticlockwise. 50-60mph winds, but clear and dry, no ice or snow. Did not go to Lochnagar summit, just to Cac Carn Mor.
