Logged Descriptions  (logged by 10 users)ByDate of Ascent
Having parked up on Tuesday 23rd at the col NG 162 466 at 225m elevation in windy cloud, Wednesday dawns calmer but still enveloped in the Scotch mist. Using compass and GPS on my phone wander across and NW to Waterstein Head. The views would be so good if the mists would lift. It's really dreich. Back at the car drive on south on this Cul-de-sac to the coll adjacent to Ramasaig Cliff then track across the northern slopes of Ben Vratabeck and across the moorland corrie top and up the slopes of Ben Corkeval. Unpleasant peat hags and troughs all up this north western side of the mountain. The wind is SSE getting quite brisk and I'm fed up with both it and this low cloud. Eventually close to the summit there's a three metre peat cliff. where I can still; down sheltered from it and I also notice there's suddenly a rare phone signal. I shelter from the wind and sit there and have an interesting chat with Alan Dawson about this and that.vegibagger24/05/2017
