A revisit, given that last time was in thick mist. Stunning today in blue skies, sunshine and a gentle breeze. Fine views, many wild flowers. Lovely on the tops, but the Coire Dubh path was a cleg- and fly-filled furnace in the continuing heatwave (in Rum???), although all the bogs were crispy dry.Gill16/06/2023
With Penny, the day after our Cuillin traverse. Nice easy route (up the path to the dam then up to the col) before catching the ferry. Interesting summit, and great views of the whole island.douglas_easton22/05/2023

Set out from Kinloch with the hope of going to Trollibhal as well but I was lucky to manage a view even from Barkeval. Worsening weather, but pleasant descent from point 575 towards Meall Breac took me to an anglers' path which led down to the upper (former) dam in Coire Dubh.pwheeler04/06/2017

Finally to Rum! with Darren during a brief heatwave for a dream 40km peak fest around the island in an enjoyably tough 26 hours between ferries, travelling KIMM style with a wild overnight camp half way round. We got a bit carried away on our first peak here bouldering in the sun on lovely honeycombed weathered rockChris Pearson25/07/2012

With Mrs G. Fairly good, clearly defined path from Kinloch up into Coire Dubh then not so good. We were trying for Askival or Hallival or anything decent, but were severely beaten by the wind and rain so had to settle for Barkeval - not happy!jonglew24/05/2009
